Looking for KDEN. What about Imaginesim?

Featured Replies

I uninstalled it because of the floating ground issue as well.

Greg

My main issue as well, I am from the Denver area. No fps issues that I know of. Approach lighting too bright, but the floating ground is the worst of it. But no other show in town..

Some of the comments above appear to be referring to Imaginesim's first (2006) FSX release of KDEN, for example limitations due to being an FS9 portover. I believe the V2 version was re-done specifically for FSX. Have not seen floating ground issues here. Frame rates are OK for me but not quite up with the cutting-edge devs, although it is a huge airport so some performance hit is expected.

I have three or four of Imaginesim's sceneries and have no issues like some described above.  All of mine are fresh and were acquired after January 2012 when I migrated to FSX.

That brings up a different issue again.  This is a company that does not offer a migrate path.  i.e. if you buy a scenery today and they come with a version update  a month or two later, if you wish to migrate you must purchase a full package.  That happened to me on Atlanta last year.  They have the only add on that I am aware of for KDEN.  A little competition would solve the problem.

No, V2 was not "redone" specifically for FSX, it is also for Fs2004. Unless Imaginesim made 2 completely SEPARATE versions, (which is highly unlikely), than the V2 still has old FS8 code.

I'm finding it hard to accept that FS2002 code works with FSX terrain polys, lighting etc.

How 'bout you tell us what makes you think this is true. It'll be a good way to cap your first day on AVSIM.

I have it, and I'm not sure what some are talking about with frames, guess it's all dependant on system configuration and such. I get 30 frames (which I'm locked at) with it. I will agree that it's not the best quality and the runway lighting is blinding, but it's still better than default. If you buy from Flight1 and don't like it, you can return it before 30 days without question.

As far as an allegation of it being "old code" or a port over, I think some evidence would be necessary before making such claims. Just assuming it is "because that's likely what they did" is not enough to back up such a claim. If it is a port over or old code, then so be it, it works fine for me. Just like with all Imaginesim sceneries, you should MIPMAP the textures.

I meant FS9, not FS8
