My best graphic settings / performance with P3D...

Featured Replies

After many experimentation, with different aircraft and weather scenarios / scenery areas (denser / softer), I have came to the conclusin that the best overall performance I can get results from:

- In simulator texture 4096, LOD 4.5, AA OFF, AF bilinear

- Nvidia Inspector: AA set at 8xSQ + Transparancy Supersampling at 2xSGS, AF 16x, Vertical Sync - use app settings.

I haven't set VSync in P3D and FPS set to UNLIMITED in the simulator.

Have a single monitor running at 1366x768, a Geeforce GTX 650 Ti 1GB DDR5, Intel i5-2500K @ 3.130GHz

Runs smooooth as silk!

I LOVE THIS SIM!!!!!!

What are your scenery and terrain texture settings, autogen etc in P3D?

Mine was running fine until I started playing with the settings, now I am getting micro stutters since I bought a 27in monitor

Sorry, I'm on X-Plane10 :-/, do not even have P3D installed...

Anyway, I have allways run it at 1366 x 768, a lot less than what you're using with your new monitor. Being a program that derives from MSFS and bases it's display mostly on CPU rat5her than GPU, only a faster CPU will do, I believe...

Honestly - each system is different - his settings or mine make no difference on your system. Start by deleting the P3D.CFG file and let it build a new one. Then test it for a while and pick ONE setting to change - and test some more. If your system is w764 and you are above 4ghz - try 4096 textures. Initially, use NO tweaks. After getting what YOU consider decent results, you can try the BP, etc tweaks but frankly P3D doesn't need them.

RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti
40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160

All good. Deleted Prepar3d.cfg, started afresh and ended up with just 3 lines of tweaks. I now get a solid 30fps and smooth as butter.
