April 14, 201313 yr lol heard that one before. The OP can actually try Flight for FREE. Might as well try it... OP be warned however: Microsoft has ceased production of Flight.... so I wouldn't get too involved. In fact all of these sims have demos. FSX, X-Plane 10, Flight. Try them all. FSX demo is really old though and not as optimized as service pack 2 will be once you install it to FSX. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
April 14, 201313 yr ...there's the issue of DDR3 memory working best in multiples of 3 (triple-channel), which means 6GB it's usually faster then 8GB.This is incorrect. The amount of channels depend on the features of the chipset. Some chipset supports two channels, other chipsets support three channels. The ram sticks themselves doesn't care if they are paired up or put in sets of three, nor does the DDR3 standard vatsim s3

First, regardless how much RAM you can, FSX will never use more than 3GB on a 32 bit OS (and even less, if your graphic card has lots of VRAM), and will never use more than 4GB on a 64 bit OS, since FSX is a 32 bit app, so it's limited in how much memory it can use.Having 8GB would be slower than having 6GB, since most of modern mainboards use triple-channel DDR3 RAM, which works at the fastest speed when installed in multiple of three so, the best configs would be 3GB, 6GB, 9GB, 12GB, etc. This is valid for Macs too, no wonder the MacPro comes with 3 or 6GB standard.

Unlike FSX. Be warned

Triple channel is not available on any of the current models. Almost all models are dual channel (except for extreme edition chips, they are quad channel) vatsim s3
