Settings for 68 knot winds?

Featured Replies

Today in a multiplayer session, the host had set steady 68 knot winds at Upolu airstrip.  It was great fun, but I was never able to contact him to find out what settings he used to achieve those wind speeds.

Does anyone know what settings to use for these high winds?

One of the weather settings will give you these winds. I don't remember exactly which one, but it is the most stormy one.  Try "mixed weather" and see if it works.

Enjoy.

Thank you.

It's mixed weather. Some settings like Isolated T-Storms and Heavy Weather offer high wind conditions in select areas. Heavy & Mixed Weather settings both come with the AK pack and have various flying conditions over a wide range of areas.

Isolated T-Storms: reported up to 98kts at 3000+ MSL in cell with sudden shifts.

Heavy Weather: I've seen close to 50kts around 5000+ MSL.

Mixed: 68kts highest at Upolu on big Island.

Hey guys --thanks for the quick response.  Makes for some interesting backward flying / hovering with full flaps on the RV6A.
