Some FS2006 suggestion I have sent to FS team

Featured Replies

Hey Mike B, you wrote something that I've never thought before...The Copilot thing so far that people requested here and in some past topics is that there could be a virtual copilot that handles ATC and the radios frequencies but the ability to let him (or her?) fly and land etc i.e. us being the Pilot-not-flying or Pilot-monitoring would be very interesting... I hope the MS team actually read this topic...Pilot_76

The Top 10 things I would like to see in FS2006.1. More realistic ATC with better sequencing of AI aircraft in and out of airports.2. More realistic ATC with better sequencing of AI aircraft in and out of airports.3. More realistic ATC with better sequencing of AI aircraft in and out of airports.4. More realistic ATC with better sequencing of AI aircraft in and out of airports. 5. More realistic ATC with better sequencing of AI aircraft in and out of airports.6. More realistic ATC with better sequencing of AI aircraft in and out of airports.7. More realistic ATC with better sequencing of AI aircraft in and out of airports.8. More realistic ATC with better sequencing of AI aircraft in and out of airports.9. More realistic ATC with better sequencing of AI aircraft in and out of airports.10. More realistic ATC with better sequencing of AI aircraft in and out of airports. If they implement these 10 things in FS2006 I'll be happy. :-)

I read a lot of post reguarding request for the next version and seeing how MS listened to customer requests on what/how to improve what became FS9, I feel pretty good about the fact that we will see huge advancements in the ATC of FS10. If one considers the fact that the FS team had time to create a whole new wx enginge for FS9 in addition to hand placing all the taxi signs, along with the new GPS and create new a/c - well I expect that having FS9 that much closer to seeming almost real that the next version will be loaded with a lot of detail goodies. What I mean is that they busted a** with new items and huge improved items in FS9 and with that theres that much more less to work on adding and now just improvements are need. THe wheel has been invented now its just smoothing it out so it rolls better. It will be very interesting to see what the guys at MS have been working on but I feel very comfortable that the next version ATC is gonna be something that every one will praise.

Speech recognition in ATC I'd be already satisfied for years...Pilot_76.

That would be great. Before I call into tower or announce to land intentions on a unicom freq I always try to guess what my dme to a field is and then make the call to see how close I am. Speech recognition would for sure improve simmers radio ability as long as it wasnt dumbed down. I for one would prefer that fs gets the way they have now close to perfect before making the transition to voice so that we will have at least one solid way of atc as a fall back measure. One little thing that would be nice would be how they can put a tail number on the tail as the way the user enters it when selecting the a/c it also shows up on panel both 2d and 3d.

They did implement SR on FSCOM2004. But Gigabyte wrote that the software came with so many bugs he thought he was dealing with an early alfa stage program....He said he is a software programmer and I do believe him and that's why I will hold my US$ 55 back and wait for what MS will show early in 2005 for their next FS version.Pilot_76

Like lots of the ideas here. Just wanted to mention a few things have been thinking of recently:1 - Would like to see a new kind of autogen. Forests would be great as real-life thick forests etc... Maybe they could somehow 'bake' ground textures which include autogen (ie. 3d?) and tons (ie. fully realistic quantities) of it to acheive this while keeping fps manageable... And could the 'autogen' part be more and more tansparent as you get higher so that basic ground textures (with hopefully inc. max. resolution) still look nice as you get >1000ft. above ground etc...Besides that just ideas mentioned here:- Improved flight dynamics platform and wind / turbulence- Improved real weather wind transitions- Improved lighting / light & dark effects- 'Walkaround' spot view when on the ground (eye-level)Thanks,Pierre.

I would fly a lot over National Parks just to spot local wilderness...Pilot_76.

I don't really have a job at the moment but now I feel like I've done something good today!P.

Here's another simple one:-textures and mesh should be loaded at FULL resolution BEFORE they get into eye distance! And when switching views they shouldn't change to a LOWER resolution again and than start slowly to reload!MS this probably the MOST important issue to fix with the terrain engine (besides the blurries)!Claudio

My priorities would beMore clarity of ground textures when flying low. I cannot stand the way that MSFS looks with a fairly clear looking structure (autogen building, autogen vegitation, etc.) sitting on top of very very blurry ground textures. Looks completely unrealistic for low and slow flying.Another thing I would love to see is more life in the sim. Cars moving on roads, movement at the airport, and trees/leaves moving in windy conditions. The flight dynamics should be more realistic. Instead of flying on what seems like rails, I would like to feel more of the dynamics that are present in the atmosphere. That would make a huge differnce in the sim. That's what keeps the X-Plane guys interested in their sim (sure isn't the sad excuse for graphics)Better mesh would be great or the ability to have even better mesh from our 3rd party add-on providers.Don't care too much about the default planes. I think they are adequate for the masses who buy the MSFS product who fly from time to time. Serious simmers usually get more professionally developed planes (freeware and payware).Of course I would love better ATC, and that will continue to evolve in each FS release, as well as with 3rd party add-ons.Many of the suggestions above are excellent, and I would love to see most of them implemented. For me, I believe MS will focus on features that are more apparent to the casual simmer instead of the hardcore simmer. The casual simmer makes the product profitable for MS to build the product and allows them to continue to develop the MSFS series. Thank goodness that they exist. The 3rd party developers cater to us, the hardcore simmers, and my hope is MS creates MS 2006 in a way that 3rd party developers can develop even better products to make the sim even more awesome.

<>Actually the signs weren't hand placed but done alorithmically. Some were hand tweaked later but there's no way they all could have been placed by hand!

waah all very good ideasone thing apart from improved sceneryis that as already said an ATC emergency...i.e runway is cleared for you to land even if you are VFR and the weather sux! That would be nice...not to hear' airport is IFR cant land' ahhacheers

When creating a flight plan, add a NOTAM function where the user can deactivate navaids (VOR, NDB, ILS, etc) that are currently inop along the route. Also have the ability to close runways if there was construction going on.

Versitile ATC would be great. The only other thing I can think of is ice covered lakes during winter where applicable.
