Any way to control each engine with different keyboard button?

Featured Replies

Hello!

I've got a question regarding controls of the engines in a twin engine aircraft. I am using F buttons to control the thrust and I've been wondering is there any way that I can control each engine with different button?

e.g. assign the keyboard buttons so that I could decrease left engine thrust with F1, right engine with F2 and increase left engine thurst with F3 and right engine with F4?

I know that you can select the engine that you want to control but it isn't what I want to do.

Any help would be appreciated :)

Not sure about key assignments, but hardware throttles or mouse control in the 2D cockpit/VC would be options, too.

You'll probably need to open up a new topic in the appropriate forum (see where you posted!), or maybe an admin can shift this thread to the appropriate place.

What happened to AVSIM

I select the engine first, then control the throttle with the function keys.

Press E, then 1 to select engine one.  E, then 2 for engine 2.  Press E 1 2 to get all engines back (E 1 2 3 4 for a four engined plane).

Some panels may not allow this multi-key selection, if they are not designed properly.

Hope this helps,

 FS 2004.

Check http://www.hidmacros.eu/ you can do a lot with HIDMacros.

It look promising I must give it a try! Too bad the manual is in French...

Backup your FS9.cfg before making the following edits.

Find these entries in the [KEYBOARD_MAIN] section.

(These are the default entries, they may be different if you have changed those assignments from default.)

THROTTLE_FULL=115,8
THROTTLE_INCR_SMALL=114,8
THROTTLE_DECR=113,8
THROTTLE_CUT=112,8

Change them to...

THROTTLE1_DECR=112,8

THROTTLE1_INCR=114,8

THROTTLE2_DECR=113,8

THROTTLE2_INCR=115,8

Save your changes and test.

Joe
