June 20, 201411 yr I believe there are two approaches that work.. You can change the Affinity Setting to accommodate the Q400, AM=7 works best for me.. Or, you can keep your favorite AM setting, AM=14 for me, and change the Q400 ini file. Try this: disableFSXCPUBypass=1 systemThreadsCPUMask=1 graphicsThreadCPUMask=1 Sorry to resurect this old thread but is the advice here still good for AM=14 in the FSX.cfg? I should edit the Q400 .ini file as suggested to get the best Q400 performance? June 20, 201411 yr Author I think this is old information.. Not sure, but I run with AM=14 and the default settings in the ini file. Bert
August 15, 201411 yr Hi, I'm experiencing stutter just during the taxi, otherwise all is running like a charm with a stable and smooth 30fps. I want to know what settings should be change ? FYI I've got a i5 2500k 4.6ghz (4cores and affinitymask set to 14) Thanks ! Hadrien M
August 15, 201411 yr Author Is this at a complex airport? If so, that may be the issue, and no settings in the Q400 will fix that.. Bert
August 15, 201411 yr Is this at a complex airport? If so, that may be the issue, and no settings in the Q400 will fix that.. Yep at a complex airport, but all my PMDG, Qualitywings or A2A are running fine without stuttering. The Majestic Q400 is for a majority of simmer one of the smoothest complex aircraft, I'm pretty sure I have to tweak the ini file, maybe the CPU Bypass line ?! Hadrien M
August 15, 201411 yr Author Well, this sounds like a question for Majestic - have you asked them? Bert
August 15, 201411 yr Not yet, I will. I tried here by chance because I think the issue is the affinitymask. Thanks for the answer Bert, have a good flight ! Hadrien M
January 8, 20188 yr My goodness. This place never changes - everyone has an opinion - no one has an answer. How many times can Bert ask a simple question and get no answers ?? !! OMG. LMAO.
