Hey,

I was advised to install sweetfx onto my system a couple of days ago, and I did. It is a really great program. unfortunately my computer cannot handle it at all, so I dicided to get rid of it. I deleted all the files that were in the sweetfx folder. later I tried restarting FSX and it wouldnt start up. no error messages came up, it just wouldnt start. I had a hunch it had to do with something I deleted, so I reinstalled SweetFX and the problem was fixed.

Now the only problem is, that my system cannot handle sweetfx and I need to get rid of it, but I dont know how without causing FSX to not work.

Thanks!

Maybe try to clean your registry?

If that doesn't help, try deleting the fsx.cfg

That's really my only two guesses.

Probably a good idea to rename the fsx.cfg and then try to restart.

I'm not real sure about how to handle this, but I think sweetfx has a d3d9.dll that it puts in the root fsx directory which might be part of the issue.

I didn't see any issue with SweetFX on my rig...no framerate effect at all.  What happened?

Well, my system is horrible as it is, and when I installed Sweetfx my 8fps average wet down to a 4fps average which is alot when it is already that low. I tried the fsx.cfg thing and that didnt work. I will try just deleting the Sweetfx folder and see if that helps.
