Here are some random shots using SweetFX 1.4 in DX10 with my own adjustments to the SweetFX settings. These are the original shots with no editing. I particularly like how SweetFX allows you to obtain more realistic colouring. EDIT: MODERATOR WARNING: Large Images Cheers Steve

Hi guys, A few days ago I had crashes in FSX. A kind man helped me find out what was wrong, the ENB series was the problem. BUT now it gone alright, until this minute. I was flying about 50 minutes when I wanted to save (3rd time) when FSX suddenly quit without message that what was wrong, so I launched Event Viewer and I saw this message: " A request to disable the Desktop Window Manager was made by process (Flight Simulator X v10.0.61637.0) " and at that same time this one: " The Desktop Window Manager was unable to start because composition was disabled by a running application " nothing more, no crash logs about e.g. uiautomationcore.dll or SweetFX but I believe that this kind of crash wasn't caused by SweetFX. I searched the net about this kind of crash but I did not find so much things about this crash. I have installed uiautomationcore.dll (proper version), I have Window 7 with the latest updates and with the latest nvidia graphic drivers. Can somebody help me out what went wrong? I really can't understand why Microsoft stopped FSX development. Thanks

Hey, I was advised to install sweetfx onto my system a couple of days ago, and I did. It is a really great program. unfortunately my computer cannot handle it at all, so I dicided to get rid of it. I deleted all the files that were in the sweetfx folder. later I tried restarting FSX and it wouldnt start up. no error messages came up, it just wouldnt start. I had a hunch it had to do with something I deleted, so I reinstalled SweetFX and the problem was fixed. Now the only problem is, that my system cannot handle sweetfx and I need to get rid of it, but I dont know how without causing FSX to not work. Thanks! ~Remy

Ok I have a gaming rig that can do just about anything. The problem I have is I use sweetfx to adjust the graphics in Microsoft Flight Simulator X and in windowed mode the graphics are perfect. Exactly what I want my simulator to look like. I use a 3 monitor set up. Here's the problem. When I put this is full screen mode the graphics are the same but the fps makes the game unplayable. When I take out the sweetfx files out of fsx directory the full screen works but graphics are obviously default. How can I make fsx with sweetfx work in full screen mode? I've spent hours and hours on forums but no real answers. Please I know someone out there has the answer. Thanks for the replies on this. I'm running 16gb ram gtx670 4gb AMD 8750 8 core trust me it can run anything.

here is a guide i posted on the REX forums to get a little bit more beauty out of your prepar3dv2. My setting are very subtle but you guys can play with it. Now that prepar3d v2 is out, I thought it would be a good idea to put a guide for anybody that wants to enhance their prepar3d experience by adding a shader injection. In this case we will use sweet fx and flightfx GUI since regular enb doesnt work in dx11 and FXAA tool seems a bit buggy in prepar3d v2. This guide should also work for fsx dx9 and dx10 but will need setting adjustments. Right, so lets get to it. 1. download flightfx here : http://www.777studio...ightFX_V1.0.zip 2. donwload my settings if you choose to here : http://www.sendspace.com/file/ogxpi2 3. Install flightfx, I know this thing is supposed to be for ROF but it works just fine in prepar3dv2 and fsx. 4. Now before you launch anything, make sure flightfx and prepar3d are set to run in administrative mode. very important otherwise it will not copy the files that you need. 5. Launch flightfx (admin mode) 6.In the lower left corner of the program it says "register a new game" click it. 7. Find the prepar3d.exe file in the root folder here : C:\Program Files (x86)\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2 8. Good, now the fields on the right should be already filled up. click on "Enable SweetFX" right below where it says "data folder". 8b. Check the root folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2) to see if flightfx copied the necessary files. ex. d3d9.dll d3d9.fx dxgi.dll dxgi.fx etc. 9.Ok, now go to the "FX settings " tab on the top. at the bottom click where it says "Load from" 10.find where you saved the downloaded file that has my settings (file: "prepard3dv4.txt"). you can also put the txt file inside : C:\Program Files (x86)\FlightFX\FX\SweetFX\Presets for greater convenience. This should put the settings that i have done for preapr3d, you can change them as you want. i did mine with a bit more punch on the colors and bit more "clarity". 11. Now go back to the "Profile manager" tab and check that you have the right file under "FX Preset". this is the file that prepar3d will use for the settings that are active on the "FX settings" tab. 12. Great now leave flightfx open and launch prepar3d v2 and pick any scene that you want to test and adjust. 13. Now to use this we have by default 3 keys: - printscreen button does exactly that. -screenlock button turns the shaders on/off. -pause button reloads the shaders for changes (unmap from p3d if you want). 14.you can leave prepar3d running and just go to flightfx and change some of the settings. anything that you want. as soon as you move a slider it saves it automatically. so move a slider then just go back to prepar3d and hit the pause button.this will reload the shaders with your changes and you will see it immediately. here is a before and after for comparison. The settings are very conservative but like i said you can changed them as you want. before http://i.imgur.com/DJvDrp6.jpg after http://i.imgur.com/1XkEeuK.jpg Also note, my prepar3d setting have HDR off since its a bit buggy currently, and has FXAA off as well as no MSAA. flightfx deals with it better and its more adjustable. Thats it keep playing with it and help build amazing settings for the community. The thing seems very stable, although you might see that clicking menus seem a bit slow, you can turn off the shaders and it will go back to normal. Also i did not see any hit on FPS if anything maybe 1fps lost. Happy flying.

I have a big problem with the Shadermod "sweetfx" :-( If I enable it (into the tool "FlightFX) or copy the "d3d9.ll" in the rootfolder of FSX, the FSX don´t start... FSX says: one or more files cannot load. pleas reinstall fsx or repair. If I put the d3d9.dll out of the FSX-root, it runs without any problems. :-( i hope you can help me to fix this issue. Hi ppl. I'm currently using SweetFX 1.4 + RadeonPro + HD6870 + Sublime Environment Xtreme preset. http://sfx.thelazy.net/games/preset/330/ I love it, it really gives a whole new look to FSX, BUT (there is always a but), the night is too dark, YES I know it must be dark, but lights are dark too, specially those that don't have enough contrast, example TAXI lights (totally null when SweetFX active), some apron lights, signs, and so on. The issue n1 is taxi lights because I really can't see a damn thing when taxiing. :(. Any easy tip to make lights shine?. I know there is a profile for ENB that uses a very nicely done palette, but I'm hoping to stay with SweetFX I'm really enjoying it. Tips & ideas welcome!.

So today I decided to take a nice leisurely flight from Tahiti over to the Cook Islands. Weather today was beautiful with little clouds, however over at Rarotonga Intl it was raining on and off. Generally though it seemed like a lovely day for flying. Having packed the bags, we boarded on the excellent Pilatus PC12, with the morning mist and low clouds we prepared for takeoff. We followed the VAIT3E SID, out of Faaa International Airport from Tahiti: The cloud coverage appeared to be increasing as we flew on, and turbulence became a bit of an issue. Generally however we stayed above the clouds. My favourite screenshot, cruising at 28,000 ft. It was a quiet flight, but the view from the back nearing the Top of Descent was still pretty good: Dropping down to 24,000 ft to try and reduce some headwinds, we encountered some more turbulence, but this time with some rain. We were getting close to the Cook Is., made evident by the increasing bit of rain we were encountering. Here's an action shot, trying to keep her steady from the Copilot's seat: As we descended, the cloud coverage definitely got pretty thick, and I was a bit worried about sticking the landing. As we near our turn to final, the weather's definitely turned for the worse. It didn't help that a) my GPS starting to screw up after I tried to load the STAR and b) flying blind in clouds trying to figure out the ILS frequency to input manually. However the Cook Is is off in the distance, and I think I'm just about far enough out to start a normal descent from 3,000 ft. Coming onto Finals, following the ILS, I take a few breaths as the wind buffets the turboprop: At last, we should be steady enough for a hand flown landing: Or so I thought. This probably won't end well. Success! The PC12 is down in one piece, despite a bounce and landing off centreline. I think I'm going to need a holiday from all that flying. Time to grab the bags and head out! The end!

Hi guys; First of all, congratulations on the idea of making a support for SweetFX. I've tried to use SweetFX several times, but always end up bumping into the same problem. I fly a lot with the NGX, and I use Ezdok for the views. What happens is that when I switch from one view to another, the screen blinks. It's like the SweetFX shuts down and turns on again at each change of view. And this only happens with the NGX. In any other aircraft that I use, it will not appear. Is there a way to fix it? The FSX is from "another world" using SweetFX, but this flashing screen makes me upset. Here are my specs: 1. Windows 7 2. FSX DX9 3. nVidia 650 GTX Ti Boost 2GB 4. I'm using nVidia Inspector according to Tab's (PMDG) post. Sorry for my English, it is not my first language.

Hi all, I've been having an issue when trying to use SweetFX with FSX. Once extracting all the relevant files and folders into the FSX root directory (E:\FSX), FSX will not load and crashes back to desktop after a few seconds on the splash screen. I have seen various posts around this particular issue where its has been suggested that there are potential issues with a variety of areas such as; antialiasing, DX10, shaders and not having up to date drivers etc etc. Having checked all of these out, still no change. As suggested I've updated to latest Nvidia graphics driver (Clean Install), I've also turned off antiailaising but with no success. I have isolated the issue however with 1 file in particular, 'd3d9.dll'. Once i delete this file, FSX starts up fine, although SweetFX doesn't appear to work at all. It was mentioned one one particular post that SweetFX will still function without this file, although firstly I have no idea if this is accurate, and if it is in fact correct, why am I not seeing any changes? As a test I am making sure Split Screen is enabled and have also altered many of the settings (using 'FLight FX: SweetFX GUI) so I assume the difference would be quite noticeable as soon as FSX has loaded as the aircraft preview image also displays the split screen image. I have checked the log and can see the following, although I'm unsure how to locate the specific cause from this. full path: E:\FSX\ redirecting CreateDevice initialising shader environment device->GetBackBuffer failed redirecting CreateDevice initialising shader environment D3DXCreateEffectFromFile failed try to use "E:\FSX" for shader files Can anyone help to shed some light on the above to help me resolve the issues? Some additional info which might help: Intel i5-4690k Nvidia GeForce GTX 770 FSX (SP1 + SP2) Many thanks in advance Al

Hi, i am looking for help. I posted it also on SweetFX forum but maybe you Steve already know the problem and resolution? Basicaly the question is: is will SweetFX work with Fixer (v11)? So far i have been using succesfully SFX 1.5 + FlightFX. No issues and great visual experience. Now i decided to move to SFX 2.0 and i cannot start FSX up. It crashes few seconds after launching fsx.exe. My system: W7 64bit, GeForce GTX970, FSX Acceleration, DX10 mode, Steve's DX10 Fixer, nVidia inspector. Any advise how to fix it would be highly appreciated. Kind regards, Kris
