but I'm convinced all the Apple stuff that comes with Quick Time causes crashes.

I think I told him and some others about that some time ago.   I agree.  The Bonjour Service is not compatible and a lot of people are very upset.  It's very difficult to uninstall too.  Apple does not want to lose their I-Tune customers at all costs.  Great suggestion though!

I know you don;t like to hear this, but I'm convinced all the Apple stuff that comes with Quick Time causes crashes. Happened to me and to a friend of mine, Either uninstall it or kill all the Apple related services. Since you are an Aplle fan you probably won't....

Yeah I think so, but for me related to FSX, Apple's services haven't caused any anomaly yet except some crashes at iTunes but it didn't worsen the FSX crashes. I don't have QuickTime installed to my PC, it is installed to Macbook. I just have iTunes on PC on what I'm playing FSX.

Thanks anyway :)

With Quick Time came Itunes, something with an Windows/Ipad connection and other stuff from Apple. I´m not shure which Apple app caused mine, and my friends FSX to crash. My FSX on a PC his on a Highend Laptop.

So, do the complete uninstallation of iTunes and it's services can fix these types of crashes? Have you had the same type of crashes like me?

This is how to do it - http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/23959/completely-remove-itunes-and-other-apple-software-from-a-windows-computer/.  It won't hurt to uninstall it and see if this fixes your problem(s).  If not you can always reinstall iTunes.

I'm back

Finally I get a temporary solution of turning off iTunes related stuffs with Razer Game Booster. I could turn off Bonjour Services and so on. So I tested with PMDG 737 NGX with GSX and I took off from LZIB. I put the plane into a holding pattern over JAN VOR. I was holding there for two and half hours when I decided to land already. So I begin the preparation for landing and I set the arrival procedure for the RWY 31 with ILS, and when I changed the view for wing view I get a FSX not responding message. After couple of moments FSX closed, BUT NOW with a crash report what happened but I can't analyze this because I'm not good at analyzing crash reports as you do. So I brought my crash report here:

Faulting application name: fsx.exe, version: 10.0.61637.0, time stamp: 0x46fadb14
Faulting module name: unknown, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x00000000

I have gotten the same type of crash and it was my weather program (AS2012) going on line to update the weather.  Your iTunes or Bonjour Service could be doing the same in the background and taking up needed resources.  The report you provided says nothing other than you had a crash.  The exception code means you had a Memory_Access_Violation which is very common with FSX crashes. There was no module or fsx file that caused the crash (like the g3d.dll).  The fact you were flying for two and a half hours indicates nothing wrong with FSX or it's addons but your system could be overheating or your CPU voltage is too high or too low or your system RAM is not properly installed.  Your system RAM will run even with bad settings for a while but, if it's constantly looking for resources, it might blink and cause your system to crash.  It could be a wrong frequency, timing or voltage setting.  I don't recall but did I ever tell you to lower your FSX settings?  High settings with a badly configured overclock or poor timings and voltages could be causing the crash.  Again, I don't see any problem with FSX or any of your addons.  You had FSX running for over two and a half hours with no problems then FSX crashed.  It has to be one of the things I just mentioned.

I've never played with RAM overclocking or CPU overclocking (because a I5 2500 cpu you can't overclock) but it looks like that we've solved my problem with blocking iTunes' services, so now I'll fully uninstall as you mentioned because may be that something has left from iTunes's services that caused FSX to crash at this time. And something other thing I would like to ask you about: may be that my FSX has run properly in compatibility mode in the past because this problem with iTunes' services so they could not interact with each other, somehow, because one is running in compatibility (XP) another don't, is it possible?

So MAY I now say that the thing that caused my FSX to crash was iTunes and it's services?

I did a lot of research on the Internet about the Bonjour Service.  It is filled with bugs and a lot of people are very upset with Apple for using the service to manage their iTunes.  People are having all kinds of computer problems.  So, yes, I'm glad you finally admitted it was the iTunes and Bonjour Service causing your problem(s).  It definitely could help others.  In fact, I recall another member here who had the Bonjour service and I told him/her to get rid of it and they did and that fixed the problem.  These programs that run in the background can cause headaches.  I have the Bing Desktop program where it downloads a new background on my computer every morning (today it's a picture of the Earth from outer space).  When I would run FSX and try to go full screen or windowed mode, I couldn't.  I finally found out it was the Bing Desktop Search Icon on my desktop.  If I closed it, I could do anything with FSX.  It's little things like this that makes people like me go insane!  Hope you enjoy your FSX and thanks for letting us know how you fixed it.

I cannot answer your question as I do not have this service installed.  My only suggestion would be to go to Google.com - https://www.google.com/webhp?hl=en&tab=ww  and search for bonjour service Windows 7 and you will get a lot of hits regarding this service.  Look for some way to disable the service while using FSX.  That might solve any problems you might be having with this software and fsx.

Man Jim you are a life saver . Judging from the OP post i have similar problem with fsx as his . I read every post in this topic an came to find out that i also had the bonjour service running in my system i didn't even know how it got in my pc . I never downloaded itunes but come to think of it i did download quicktime since sony vegas needed it .  From all the reply from all the simmers to the Op i am on my way to trying some of the same suggestion . Specially the one with the cach shader problem . I have open the log file created in fsx an every time i  ended a flight with FC Captain  an click on flight plan fsx will just exit with out no error report just as the OP describe . So as soon as that happen i open the log file inside fsx an this is what it said :

Can you go into fsx main directory an type log in the search box an see what it tells you ? This way we might see if you have similar problems that i have .

Hi Mr Leny,

Out of the whole crash log you showed, only the above lines are your problem.  I did a Google search using the above and one person fixed it by "adding the 'd3d9.fx' file from SweetFX".  And here is a possible solution - http://www.gamedev.net/topic/458588-d3dxcreateeffectfromfile-problems-solved/.  It appears you did not edit the d3d9.fx file correctly.

Hope this helps.

Hi, maybe was but now when I looked for that log file all that there were are not similar to yours. But I recommend to check that link that Jim posted above, it very looks like you have problems with "d3d9.fx",as above said.
