I just cant get past the 4.8 though - not that I need to, I was just trying to push the boundaries - no matter what I do with llc or whatever -

I am happy with what I have, its stable with 10 hours prime.

Does that not make it about 1.4 with that vrop/vdroop? I thought that there was about 0.9v of a difference?

The cooler master hypo evo costs 30 dollars, and is considered the all time best budget cooler. If you want to spend more, you could get a better cooler.

I have the CM Hyper 212 EVO and would highly recommend it. Has outperformed another aftermarket cooler I have costing 3X as much. Its recommended to have 2 heatsink fans in a push-pull arrangement. The 212 EVO only comes with 1.

O bought the corsair H100i on push pull config what do you think about it?

OK... so here is the million dollar question. Or I should say $2,500.00 questions.

What would you build if you had $2,500.00 for a FSX dedicated machine? I am in no rush and plan on pulling the trigger in about a month or two. Seeing what I have and perhaps only using the case, what would you put the $$ towards to get me up and running with the best using the full 2,500?

Thanks in advance.

My specs are posted. I was able to stay under $2000 for my setup. All components bought at Microcenter and I built it myself. Microcenter is like having a brick and mortar newegg store if you're lucky enough to live close to one. The 4770K Hazwell chip is scheduled for release within the month so it might be worth waiting for it especially on your budget. While there are known heat issues regarding the 3770K Ivy bridge, I was able to easily overclock mine on air to 4.5Ghz and its rock stable. The 4770K is rumored to be around 10% faster clock for clock. My setup would probably be around $2500 if assembled by a custom PC builder and not yourself. Regards

All in newegg and amazon

I concur with what Adam posted.

I'm using the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO with 2 heatsink fans in a push-pull arrangement. My case is the Cooler Master HAF LAN test box so its not a typical tower case. It provides for better airflow than most other cases and can accommodate a 200mm case fan, very important if cooling on air.
