I am flying around the world

Featured Replies

I am flying around the world within one year. It started on Apr27,2013 from Hong Kong. I plan to visit over 100 detailed city airports scenery. I will take videos and photos to share with you throughout the entire route. The aircraft I may use are cessna 208b and beechraft. It may just VFR flight from airport to airport.

You can see my flight daily in the following link:

Here is my fsx home cockpit setup :

I used 3 projectors to project 3 screens using matrox triplehead2go.
Dell i7 core 8Gb ram, 1Tb hard disk. Nvidia G640 display card. Windows 8, 64-bit

Addon used: REX, AS2012, ENB series, GEX Asia, UTX Europe, TrafficX and each detailed airport scenery freeware and payware...

Great little setup there. Never thought of a projector. How does it compare to a monitor ? Refresh rate etc?? Sharp or a bit hazy? I'd say it gives a great impression of being enclosed in a cockpit. Is it expensive ?

Nice to see someone doing it the right way and not in a 747 on autopilot while they're sleeping.  :Applause:

Thanks for replies, the projectors I use are mini ones, which is about Euro 300 each, resolution is 1280x800 not so sharp but not fluzzy, if compared to monitor I think monitor will be much more superior, but using mini projector now I can project 50" screen each and more convenient for storage and saving space.
