May 22, 201313 yr Author @@navtech do you have an idea how to find out which processes are useful to delete? Not that I delete something what is needed by Windows/other programs. @@momtchil this is occurring everywhere. Done a flight Dubai-Vienna and had the same problem while over Iraq,Turkey,....And I'm not using a special addon except Ground Environment Pro. So no other landclass/mesh/... is active in the areas. I'm also having the feeling with using GE Pro the blurries on final levels are bit stronger... PS: actual defraging my HD Greetings Eddi
May 22, 201313 yr Quote fyi SSD will solve a lot of this conventional hard drives are crap LOL ... Well if SATA or ATA are crap .. evidences shows that a majority of the SATA and ATA hard drives users are not suffering the same phenomena as the original poster .. So IMHO we can conclude that the blurries are not the result of the use of a "crap" SATA or ATA hard drive More that that .. a fragmentation can't be the source of blurries unless the hard drive is heavy fragmented (over 50%) ... and that is very rare event ... (never see myself even after heavy use of the hard drive .. for a month .. I have a fragmentation of 3 or 4%) @ Original poster: If you want to know about process needed or useless .. please go there : http://www.blackviper.com Last but not least ... be sure your GPU and CPU are not running hot (check if the heatsinks or fans are not clogged with dust .. )

(never see myself even after heavy use of the hard drive .. for a month .. I have a fragmentation of 3 or 4%) @ Original poster: If you want to know about process needed or useless .. please go there : http://www.blackviper.com Both points are right on. My drive is a SATA, and I've never defragmented my hard drive--my system is as fast today as it was four years ago when I first set it up. There are some myths about fragmentation. If FS9 was installed on a fresh hard drive, its read only files are very unlikely to be fragmented, unless the hard drive was close to capacity. Read only files will not become fragmented over time. They stay where they are, once written to the hard drive. Add-on files may become fragmented, depending on how much use the hard drive has had, and how close to capacity it is when the add-ons are installed. I firmly believe there is some process eating up cpu resources on the OP's system. Either that, or an MSFS add-on is. Dynamic blurries should not be happening and dynamic blurries are caused when the cpu can't keep up with MSFS. It's odd that the dynamic blurries in this case are limited to view switches. In FSX, when I use Tileproxy, I will sometimes get blurries briefly when switching views. It more often happens when I am using a complex aircraft that's heavy on cpu resources. After a moment, the texture redraws catch up. Since Tileproxy is constantly writing to the hard drive when it's not using its cached files, it stands to reason that blurries may happen from time to time. I've been doing systems and software instruction and support and QA for a couple of decades now and one of the first classes I had to teach dealt with fragmentation, since our users dealt with large volumes of data and would see slowness in their systems over time when they didn't keep up with common systems housekeeping. I do recommend defragmenting a hard drive upon install of a new program if the program is rather large, like MSFS is. More as a precaution, since I can never tell what state a user's hard drive is in when they install a product. However, I don't have to be as concerned about that as I once was, since most of my customers use browser based apps and run their apps from our cloud. And in the old days, I used to do the installations of our apps on site for the client, so I never had to worry about the state of their systems--we staged the systems from the point of formatting the hard drive, installing the OS, and installing our app(s). May 22, 201313 yr Author @navtech will take a look there. I just finished defraging my HD Attached a picture with using Ground Enviornment. I'm having the strange feeling using this makes it not better :( I think I will remove it to get back to the "beginning" :( Greetings Eddi
May 22, 201313 yr I know I'm right - over and out and thank you. Not saying you cant get things running nicely but I am saying is an SSD will take a lot of trial and error out of it not to mention a solid operating system best thing I ever did just amazing difference and feel of confidence with an SSD which you cant put a price on this a very overlooked part of a pc and I fell for it to ah who needs that right lol no just get one. July 17, 201312 yr Author After beeing away from my Pc due traveling I flew again the last days ago and the problem is still present. It doesn't matter if I'm flying with Active Sky off or in an area with no active scenery it's always the same. Sometimes even when I'm directly over the area it looks very soft. The only good news are that it all loads a bit faster but still not good :( Greetings Eddi
