We're getting much closer to the finish now. I can imagine the  sense of accomplishment and relief the mushers must feel when the get here and realize the journey is almost over.  I don't imagine that they think too much of the sea ice though.

I wonder how you are supposed to get a team of sled dogs up to the cache?  Guess they can jump real high.

Checking on Google, you will see quite a bit of confusion as to wether Golovin is actually still a checkpoint. There are no staff there to check the mushers in and out, but some teams still stop there to take a break and visit with the friendly "Golovinians". Most of the teams mush straight on through to White Mountain, the next official checkpoint.
