June 8, 201312 yr Hawk, found this quote from a test flight of the 850...maybe it'll help ya: "Engine start was simple with the starter engaged on the overhead panel and condition lever moved to the low idle position as NG (high-pressure core rpm) passed 10%. As NG passed 50%, the starter was manually disengaged, booster pump and fuel set to auto and condition lever set to full. I should clarify, starter sounds should be about a minute , and not cut off or recycle in the event that one of the start up configs was missed, like forgetting to turn on the fuel. In this way you wont get a sudden recycle or the dreaded end of sound file, no sound, then recycle. The most ideal start up would have the starter working until you actually turned it off. The way it is now (for all of fsx tprops), as soon as you apply fuel, fsx cycles into "combustion start" and ends the starter sound files, which is incorrect. You can be flying around with the starter switch on and wouldn't know it. In the RW, you would burn up the starter, just like in your car if you left it on. Some planes have a CAS alert for that, and other planes (PC-12 NG) have an auto starter, and disengage themselves. I dont have the XML chops to do something like that now, but maybe in the future.
