August 26, 201312 yr Unfortunately it looks like my internet provider IINET in Australia has blocked opussoftware again and I am trying to work this out with the provider. From what I guess IINET detects a website ( using your internet provider ) involved with phishing and then blocks the IP address of the phishing site. If opussoftware uses a dynamic IP address instead of a fixed one , then eventually opussoftware is assigned the IP address that was at some stage the IP address of the phishing site. At this stage opussoftware has an IP address 209.235.144.9 which appears to be blocked by IINET. Roy Roy Jordan
August 26, 201312 yr At this stage opussoftware has an IP address 209.235.144.9 which appears to be blocked by IINET. That's interesting. Here's the information on that IP: Internet Names for Business. They obviously have a rogue business in their system, or something is really screwed up. Just an FYI, when I tried to access that IP, I was denied access too, and I am on Comcast in the U.S.
August 26, 201312 yr Hi Tom The below is what I get and this issue seems to be happening every month or so. IINET detects phishing activity against IINET customers so they block the IP address of the phishing site. Am assuming this is a dynamic address which eventually is assigned to opussoftware and then I do not see opussoftware until the IP address is unblocked or changes again. This would not be a big issue for me if I was able to download the beta updates from an address outside of the opussoftware.co.uk domain. IP Address: 209.235.144.9 Node Hostname: www.opussoftware.co.uk Numeric Address: 3521875977 Country: United States (US) State or Province: Florida (FL) City: Fort Lauderdale Zip / Postal Code: 33301 Latitude: 26.1209 Longitude: -80.1273 ISP: InternetNamesForBusiness.com Roy Jordan
August 26, 201312 yr I have worked out how to resolve this issue ....... when I am not able to access the website I then use a proxy server to allow me to see the site and download the beta files. If other IINET users face the same issue then I recommend they look at using a proxy server to access the site. Roy Roy Jordan
September 8, 201312 yr Hi Stephen the website is still being blocked by iinet in Sydney as of this morning. it's been a couple of weeks now.trying the proxy work around now as i would like to update my beta version. Matt
September 9, 201312 yr Commercial Member Using a proxy server is the only thing I can recommend to get around the iinet problem. It is best if you contact iinet directly to complain since last time we emailed them they wanted us to contact them by phone. I will contact them again but it seems to be a reoccuring problem with no permanent fix. We did try upgrading to a fixed IP for a while but that didn't make any difference. Cheryl
