Thanks Les. Your insight and info made it possible.

 

The sound pack was originally developed by myself and Gary Jones for the Carenado SR 22. Gary had some great Teledyne sounds he let me use, and I did the code. It was a snap

converting it to a twin. I cfg'd it slightly different from the SR, with more turbo wine, and left and right channels.

That would require not only a new air file, which would be the easy part, but also a new 3D model of the aircraft.  Unlikely that is going to happen unless Carenado decides to make it happen.  The 3D models are property of Carenado and without those source files modification is not possible.

On a side note about my sound sets... if anyone is interested, I've up'd a wasp jr. sound set for twins. Recored from a real wasp jr.

 

Also, I'm planning a TC sound set upgrade in about a month, so stay tuned

Sound update:

 

Ok, its just about done, maybe a couple weeks.  I'm in the the middle of a video for the TBM with Bluesky's new sceneries.

 

About the update:

 

I did a rather hack job with the last sound set, and I apologize. The updated engine sounds use the same sounds but redone, remixed, and proper sound cones

added. The engine speeds have been lowered a bit, and more prop wash added.

 

Its difficult to do a really true sound with FSX because it bases the engine speeds on RPM and not manifold pressure. Because the TC runs at 39 Hg, and the max RPM is 2700, it'll sounds like its wide open past 34hg, regardless of the RPM... so I'm trying to iron that out.

Now on another note. I noticed a minor flaw with the TC. The prop control may limit lowering below 2200 RPM. Here is the replacement code for the aircraft.cfg. Just copy paste these over the same sections in the aircraft.cfg. This will also adjust the elevator to a more realistic effectiveness.

Hawk I tried your update today.

 

Everything is great except in the cockpit. All I can hear is a really really low engine noise. I can get it cranked up via the FSX sound option but the gyros are super load and it also throws all the other aircraft way to loud at that setting.

 

I removed it and tried the update again just to make sure I didn't miss anything but it's still occurring. Any ideas?

CVO, make sure you are copying/pasting only the  engine code  to your sound.cfg

Thanks Hawk. I tried the ones you just posted with the same results.

 

But, I managed to get it fixed. I was adding the new update to your "original" sound files. Then it dawned on me that this update may not coexist with the original. So I got the original Carenado sound folder and put this update in it. Works fine now. So don't go digging. :)

 

Thanks for the quick response. I'm going to go check it out now.
