July 15, 201312 yr Several times, my FSX shuts down at the most inopportune times. Just now, I was in flight and out of nowhere, FSX stops responding. It also seems lots of applications are running. July 15, 201312 yr Try this... This fixed a "crashing" problem in the middle of the flight. I have it backed up like 5 times just to make sure I can get it back if I need to reinstall FSX! Haha... http://flightsimeindhoven.nl/?p=7874 - - Tommy - -
July 15, 201312 yr Go to the FSX/Modules folder and click on FSUIPC.log. It should provide you the error details and you might want to copy and paste and post the log here. I doubt it was a problem with the fsuipc module even though it was shown as the faulting module. The log is changed every time you restart fsx so any log data may be gone of the crash if you tried to start up fsx again. If you get the crash again though, immediately go to the fsuipc.log and take a look at it . A lot of times the module was issuing a lot of warnings that you were about to run out of memory and maybe that's what happened. August 5, 201312 yr Installer for FSUIPC4.DLL version 4.86Looking in registry for FSX install path: This looks okay. It found the path to FSX but was looking for the other versions, like Microsoft ESP and Prepar3D and did not find those paths. I do not see any problems with any of the logs, even the last one as it appears the error in the last log was fixed. You should go over to the FSUIPC support forum and see if Pete has a solution to your crash - http://forum.simflight.com/forum/30-fsuipc-support-pete-dowson-modules/ (if the fsuipc.dll is still the faulting module on subsequent crashes). I saw too that the AES module was the last module in your OP (orig post) to load before the crash. The AES module was mentioned in the FSUIPC log too but only stating a link to AES was successfully established. May not be anything but we have seen some crashes with AES trying to communicate to verify the product is properly licensed. You should also know that Exception Code 0xc0000005 means a Memory Exception Error that is common with many FSX crashes and indicates FSX was probably trying to call up a module or texture, gauge or graphic and could not find it fast enough to render so fsx crashed. FSUIPC just happened to be the module being loaded when that occurred. Lowering your fsx/display driver settings will usually fix this problem as it gives fsx and your system more "breathing room" to call up and render things and make fsx work properly. Sorry I cannot pinpoint the exact cause of your crash but hope this helped anyway. Best regards, Jim Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! August 5, 201312 yr Author Thanks for your efforts Jim, As it turns out, I was behind on my graphics drivers by a few versions. I've updated and we'll see what happens. Thanks for helping out! Dan Daniel DesjardinsA330 Type RatedVAC005Senior VP-Human Resourceshttp://www.vacanada.org
August 5, 201312 yr You might also check up on all your hardware and motherboard drivers while you are at it. I use a program called Driver Scanner and it is freeware until it finds outdated drivers. You can pay to have the drivers installed by the program or you can look for the outdated driver through Google and download and install it yourself. Good luck! August 6, 201312 yr Author Jim, I downloaded the program, it searched and all that came up outdated were USB and generic stuff. I have saved in my bookmarks the forum page for Pete and his FSUIPC updates and it's at 4.91 now, so I threw that in FSX/modules and we'll see what happens. Is there any way to know when Pete releases a new version? Or do I need to visit his site every day? Thanks! Dan Daniel DesjardinsA330 Type RatedVAC005Senior VP-Human Resourceshttp://www.vacanada.org
August 6, 201312 yr Is there any way to know when Pete releases a new version? Or do I need to visit his site every day? There was a mandatory update not too long ago (around May) and that requirement was posted on AVSIM in several spots as well as other flightsim sites. Other than mandatory updates (as the previous version will definitely not work anymore) you do not need to update it. There might be some minor changes but it can wait until the next time you might go to the site and look for an update. Best regards, Jim Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! August 14, 201312 yr Have you any other game controllers installed on your system? Have you updated your FSUIPC to the latest version? I had this problem a few months back, it turned out when I unplugged my Razer gamepad the problem didn't occur anymore, I updated to the latest version of FSUPIC and re-installed the drivers, all works fine now...
