July 26, 201312 yr The only hope of staying above 20 FPS in high traffic/major airport situations in the NGX is to be somewhere north of 4 Ghz. Of course the usual config file and NVIDIA inspector tweaks must be employed as well. I will occasionally dip below 20 FPS in certain situations. compromises still have to be made with FSX settings on rigs blazing at over 5 Ghz. Some payware software like REX and the PMDG NGX can be run at a staggering 4096x2160 screen resolution.A good overclock is almost mandatory for FSX and will net more in performance than almost any hardware upgrade. Good system balance is the key. In most situations, when it comes to FSX performance issues, the CPU is the bottleneck. One can't discount the importance of the GPU entirely however. Regards

July 30, 201312 yr The NGX is actually the most frame friendly aircraft in my hangar apart from default... Yeah and let me guess, you don't have anything but the NGX when it comes to aircraft addons... With kind regards, Bogdan Misko.
July 30, 201312 yr I agree with Luke. I am running a last-gen quad with a skunk of a GPU but the 737NGX is as smooth as any other PMDG in the my hanger (I have all but the B1900), and very few jitters. There are plenty of add-on airports in my sim world. The FPS rating in FSX vs FS9 is like a different metric, all that matters is that the scene is fluid and free of jitters and pauses. The rest is gravy. Dan Downs KCRP
