October 26, 200421 yr Since I was one of the first to complain about the FSD key reissuance policies way back when, I also want to be one of the first to eat a little crow. In the now-locked thread below regarding a company stealing somebody's money I said I'd post the results of my request for a key reacivation of for one of the FSD aircaft I own. (I'm one of those guys who reformats quite often and had to give up on FSD because of the anti-piracy policies). Well...(he said while choking on the blackbird)...I had the key reactivated within an hour of the request. Thanks Steve. I really hope this reflects a bit of a loosening up on the matter of reissuing keys to legitimate customers who make frequent hardware changes. Time will tell but, for now at least, FSD has another happy Commander pilot.Doug Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage. October 26, 200421 yr Looks like it was deleted and they are bulletproof here.Amyway, no need to eat crow. You've read all the posts by others who had a bad experience. You were just lucky.
October 26, 200421 yr After reading that thread you are talking about. I checked out FSD and am insterested in one of their planes. I also see that you can order the aircrafts on CD media. I guess that will solve all the reformat problem you guys have. However, I am holding back my purchase until I see more pleasant comments appear here.
October 26, 200421 yr Hi BOprey,I have two FSD products, the Panther and the Porter, and love flying both of them. I have received nothing but great customer service from FSD and I will definately be buying from them in the future!!
October 26, 200421 yr I noticed the thread was deleted also. I have written an email to Ken Salter and Tom A. about the subject. I feel the deletion was wrong due to the fact the original poster was not the only one to experience such problems and since this policy is not posted on the FSD website that I could see, the deletion of the thread doesn't allow fair warning to other future customers of FSD's products.I hope this was a mistake by a moderator and not a policy that is endorsed by Ken or Tom. If so, I will hang up my moderator keys effective immediately.Craig
October 26, 200421 yr Sorry to go off topic but it's interesting to see how different phrases are used for the same thing. In the UK we would say "to eat humble pie". I saw another post which referred to being "at the end of my rope". Again, here this would be "at the end of my tether".
October 26, 200421 yr I have purchased many planes at FSD International, and have to say the quality of the product and support are outstanding! :D I have had to request many keys because of computer upgrades, reformats, and my own stupid mistakes. :D I don't think I have had one bad experience with any payware company. If I have, all the great experiences heavily out-weight the bad. All I have to really say is follow the golden rule in life. :D Treat others how you want to be treated. There is always the right to refuse service to those that do not respect others. Everytime I talk with FSD or another company, I do my very best to be polite and understanding. I know how I would like to be treated if someone was making a request of me. Besides you catch more bees with honey. :D Finally, remember that you are not the only customer the addon companies have. Give it a few days to get the answers you are looking for. Cliches aside, FSD is a good company with fantastic products and services.Kevin"this message not approved by FSD, but by a happy customer :D"
October 26, 200421 yr >I hope this was a mistake by a moderator and not a policy that>is endorsed by Ken or Tom. If so, I will hang up my moderator>keys effective immediately.I doubt very much that it was a mistake. And there was no real nastiness in the thread, just opinions and experiences. Oh well.
October 26, 200421 yr Doug,I have found when I had feathers sticking out of my mouth, (and I wasn't being the cat who just ate the canary), that its best just to chew away, get it over with, like a man, as you have done. There isn't much which makes it taste better, but if you end it quick enough, well, you don't have to endure for ages, .On the deleting of the thread, I sure hope you are wrong, and it has just been a mistake. Altough this IS AVSIM's forum, their bandwidth and such, and they can do anything with it they so choose, I would hope that total censorship isn't necessary or a new policy. Gee, and I had just added what I thought was a good addition to that thread.I didn't agree with your original post, but I respect that you stood up and spoke about your recieving the new key promptly. Anyone can be wrong . . .to admit you are wrong is the sign of character.Carry on Sir!Best to you and yours,Clayton T.Dopke (Clay)Major, USAF (retired)"Drac"Sundance Quarter Horses "...a horse is a horse, of course, of course..." October 26, 200421 yr I usually don't have a problem with the atc except one time at Kinston in Jamacia I was vectored out about 40+nm before they brought me back. Over all they bring me back fairly quickly.
October 26, 200421 yr You're quite right Victor. We are, indeed, two peoples separated by a common language (Shaw?) :-) .Doug Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage. October 27, 200421 yr I'm not the guy who made the original post Clay (I think he's still out of luck). But, like you, I did add a fairly civil (for me at least :-) ) post. I read that whole thread again before it was deleted and I didn't see any real problem(s) there either. I fully understand that He Who Holds The Gold Makes The Rules but I'm also puzzled why that thread was dropped.Doug Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage. October 27, 200421 yr Really? I just did a search for FSD and pulled up MANY pages.Tom is traveling, and, if he chooses, will have something to say on this subject when he is able to reply.
October 27, 200421 yr Hi Doug (Still like your sig!),Hmmmm. Happy to hear that you've got your Commander back. And hope this is a sign that the "security" system is working better nowadays. A special "Tip o' the cap" to you for taking a bite out of the blackbird pie. Personal integrity always commands real respect.Best wishes,Mike --Mike MacKuen
