July 26, 201312 yr Is there a way to find out why it's doing this so I can pinpoint the problem? July 26, 201312 yr Author Okay I restarted my machine and it still quits after launch without any error messages. I know I was installing some addon scenery and stuff right before, so that's must've been whats causing the problem. How do I reset my scenery files and let it rebuild the database backup? I tried getting rid of scenery.cfg file from my home folder and fsx's root folder, but when I did the latter it says for me to reinstall FSX, and when i removed it out of my home folder, it didn't rebuild anything. July 26, 201312 yr This is to acces scenery library(scenery.cfg) outside the sim: http://sourceforge.net/projects/fs-sceditor/files/latest/download?source=files If you have installed some addons before this happened, try this: - Install again FSUIPC and update to latest version: http://forum.simflight.com/topic/66139-updated-modules/ - Check your DLL.XML: http://support.precisionmanuals.com/KB/a92/dllxml-information-and-troubleshooting.aspx Try this also, just to be sure http://www.fsdeveloper.com/wiki/index.php?title=Problem_Resolving_(FSX)#FSX_will_not_start http://flyawaysimulation.com/downloads/files/1675/fsx-logbook-recovery/ Zeljko Budovic
July 26, 201312 yr Author Sigh tried all of that, I really don't want to have to reinstall everything, with the amount of time and addons, it's going to take painstakingly long to get everything back to how it should again, sigh. :( Is there any last resort thing I can do in hoping to fix this very strange problem. I even erased my fsx.cfg and let it create a new one, and still nothing. Open up FSX, window pops up, and then disappears, and then ezdok pops up a window saying FSX process not found. No errors at all. Wish there was a log file of some sort that I can see why exactly it doesn't complete the loading process. Last few things I did was install an FTX addon airport and it gave me this error window: ASUS ROG Maximus Hero XII ▪︎ Intel i9-10900K ▪︎ NVIDIA RTX 3090 FE ▪︎ 64GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro ▪︎ Windows 10 Pro (21H1) ▪︎ Samsung 970 EVO Pro 1TB NVME SSD (OS Drive) ▪︎ Samsung 860 EVO 2TB SATA SSD ▪︎ Seagate 4TB SATA HDD ▪︎ Corsair RMx 850W PSU
July 26, 201312 yr Do you have enb installed if so get rid of it, and try also remove d3d9.dll file in fsx folder, that's what i did and it worked. Also remove fsx CFO and restart fsx let it rebuild again. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD http://fs2crew.com/banners/Banner_FS2Crew_MJC_Supporter.png Wayne HART
July 26, 201312 yr Author no enb and what is cfo? July 26, 201312 yr If your scenery config have been deleted, fsx will never start. Hope you kept them. Also check your exe.xml. I think UT2 and Ezdok put an entry there. Let us know how you get on Aaron. You might have to remove Orbx and reinstall. Hopefully, your terrain cfg is not corrupted. July 26, 201312 yr Author The last 2 things I did before everything worked was install an FTX airport and an Aerosoft Scenery. The aerosoft scenery asked me about something about wanting me to use the their tree's instead and if so it would make a backup of my autogen entry so I hit yet. Not sure if that had anything to do with why my FSX isn't launching anymore of if the problem lies with the FTX airport install. Sigh. Worst case scenario can I insert my FSX Acceleration DVD and perform a repair? I'd really hate to reinstall everything from scratch again. Do you have enb installed if so get rid of it, and try also remove d3d9.dll file in fsx folder, that's what i did and it worked. Also remove fsx CFO and restart fsx let it rebuild again.Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD Wow, surprisingly removing the d3d9.dll worked! I don't understand? I had sweetfx installed. but now it's not running, however I am able to launch FSX again! Yup I confirmed it, it's the d3d9.dll file that's causing my FSX not to launch. I don't understand though, I always had this file in my FSX's root folder and never had problems. Now I can't use sweetfx. Very strange problem.
