Non-English version of Windows 7 Premium

Recommended Posts

Hi, Bryan!

I have a non-English version of Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1.

There is no speech recognition for this (Polish) version of Windows 7.

I am not planning to upgrade to Windows Ultimate or to buy Windows 8.

Is there no way I can use the Airbus X Voice version?  :(

I've found your advice on using 'Vistalisator'.

But I don't know it this software may make some mess in my system or it is perfectly safe.

Can you advice on what to do best to (possibly) be able to use FS2Crew Voice?

Once it turns out to be possible, you will have (at least) one more customer.

All the best,

Robert

I installed vistalisator (and, afterwards, the English voice pack) into my German version of W7 64bit Prof./SP1.

Installation was simple (except for it takes ages - up to 20 min!), no issues noticed and I could change the speech recognition engine to English (US).

Still waiting for my USB headset to arrive, but so far vistalisator hasn't caused any issues I'm aware of.

Windows 8 is the your bet.  I've used Win 8 for a long time now.  No issues here.

But, as Oliver said above, Vistalizator (www.froggie.sk) has worked for 1000's of FS2Crew users.

You can even switch your OS back to your native language after you install it.

Hi, Oliver!

Thank you for your reply. It sounds like good news to me.

However you have a German Windows and as far as I know it has Speech Recognition by default (just German not English) and the Polish one does not offer it at all.

I wonder if this, and the fact that I have Windows Premium and you have Windows Professional, will make any difference as for using the Vistalizator.

OK, so it sounds like safe and fully working software.

Thank you. Then I am just downloading and installing it.

Should I perform anything else in that matter before I decide to purchase the Voice edition?

I mean the original Speech Recognition requires some kind of voice training. Is it the same with Vistalizator?

You may want to ask a Polish flight sim forum

None comes to my mind.

I may be the ice-breaker.

Thank you very much to both of you.

I'm off to deal with Vistalizator.

All the best,

Robert

Nothing else, just before you buy make sure you can set your Speech Recognizer to English US.

See here for specifics:

And to install Vistalizator, you may need to run it in Compatibility mode if you get a message about SP1.

I found a V~ download compatible with SP1 already.

On my system I didn't change the 'global' language (if there is such a thing at all), I left my OS 'German' and changed only the language of the speech recognition.

You can find some more information in Bryan's online manual for his AAX FS2Crew version. The link is included in the latest AAX configurator, to be updated via Hotfix 017 of the AAX.

I would like to report that Vistalizator has worked.

On this occasion I have discovered the fun of giving Windows spoken orders! :P

I have purchased and installed FS2Crew Voice for AXE.

This is my first voice version (I bought one button version for iFly - so thanks for the loyalty coupon).

I had my first flight last night, between EPPO and EDLW, and my speech recognition was some 90% perfect.

The only problem was the F/O did not want to retract flaps ('Flaps Zero' repeated a few times had no effect).

All in all - a fantastic addon! Feels so much more real now.

Thank you Oliver for your helpful advice.

Thank you very much Bryan for supporting A320 - my favourite airliner.

Did you see 'Flaps Zero' in the Green Bar?

I had the bar disabled.

I'll make another flight today/tonight and will turn it on to check.
