Which FranceVFR

Featured Replies

Hi

I'm looking at getting some FranceVFR photoscenery. I want an area or maybe two.

Which would you recommend? If I do get one area a large one would be preferable...this is my first payware photoscenery too.

I was thinking if one of the packages on the Mediterranean...

Thanks

Lee

I have most of their photo and VFR regions, and it all depends on what you want you like. If you are after just good-looking photoscenery on its own (i.e. No autogen), then I'd recommend Rhone-Alpes and PACA to the south.

However, if you also want autogen then I'd highly recommend Normandie and Alsace. They look absolutely fantastic, and some of the best VFR scenery I've ever seen in FSX. You can fly around at 500ft in a piper-club and see the definition in the hills. Pretty incredible.

Also, it's worth noting as well that most of their photo-sceneries now have some forest autogen downloadable for free, you will need to register on their forum and go here http://www.vfrnetwork.com/forums/index.php?/forum/114-autogen-factory/

tony, link isn't working. How can we get that autogen for trees. Since I can't understand French, and that site is entirely in a foreign language. Some help is appreciated. Thanks!

Yep, the VFR regional series. Make sure you get the version 2 regions.

You need to register on the forum I'm afraid to get access to it, and then the link will work.

1) Go here http://www.vfrnetwork.com/forums/index.php?app=core&module=global&section=register

. Nom d'utilisateur is your username

. Adresse de courriel is your email address

. Mot de passe is your password

. Confirmer le mot de passe is your password confirmation

. Click "J'ai lu et j'accepte les termes d'utilisation" to accept, and they will send you an email to confirm, and then you can login using "connexion" at the top-right and then download the autogen extras.

Just so you know, they also have an English area for help, but the registration and page is all in French :-)

thanks tony!

Tony another question.

Yep I have it. To be honest, it's not the biggest of regions. However as long as you don't fly over it at 250kts and use the low and slow aircraft, e.g. a C152, it's worth getting. As an example if you take off from LFOH on the western edge of the scenery, you can fly right across to the other side via Rouen and then up to LFAE on the Northern coast in about 1 hour at around 100knots. There are of course all the areas in between, and I got a few days exploring out of it. The value in this scenery is how good it looks. Also, if you get hold of a VFR chart for the area, you'll find everything absolutely perfectly mapped, down to wind-turbines, power-lines, etc.

Hhhmmm I'm looking for an area that I can fly larger aircraft too. Maybe ill get Centre or Paris photoscenery....

You can also fly larger aircraft over it, but once above about 2000ft, you lose the benefit the autogen gives you and you may as well just use the photoscenery on its own. I have the scenery all the way down to Spain, and often do routes from the UK to Spain, and it looks great at 30,000 feet.

I recently purchased this to fly VFR. I'm currently looking for Bordeaux-Merignac airport scenery.

That's nice too

I think what I'm going to do is get PACA V2 and Corse because they're both reasonable prices to get two. I'm sure ill get more later though.
