August 6, 201312 yr Does anyone have this Yoke stand from this company? It looks awesome and I think I want to buy one but I thought I'd ask here first. August 6, 201312 yr I think you could build something similiar for just a few bucks. Does it solve any problems? For me the worst part about using a desk is the chair not the position of the controls.
August 6, 201312 yr I thought for one moment it was a proper long throw yoke with the stand part being the pitch up/down axis, but it looks like it is just a third party support tube. Saitek ought to investigate a better method of pitch control. The current one is far too stiff, and has a stiffer still detente in the middle of the range. The springs are too strong and to me it has never felt like a decent yoke. The movement is not smooth. Rather than relying on springs they need a kind of hydraulic or fluid system instead of a tube through a hole with a cheap spring attached. As for the throttle levers, they suffer from the usual wear and over time spikes develop so you don't get smooth increments. I hope one day someone will come up with an affordable long throw stick or yoke. Robert Young - retired full time developer - see my Nexus Mod Page and my GitHub Mod page
August 6, 201312 yr Yes Saitek have to improve in my opinion there are better products on the market though yoke wise. Anyone bought the Go Flight 737 Yoke? Review? Would be nice http://fs2crew.com/banners/Banner_FS2Crew_MJC_Supporter.png Wayne HART
August 6, 201312 yr Keep in mind that we're talking about a $150 yoke and throttle set here, guys. Thanks, Kevin L
August 6, 201312 yr Does anyone have this Yoke stand from this company? It looks awesome and I think I want to buy one but I thought I'd ask here first. Thanks Yep! I am using a Wheel Stand Pro, with Saitek Yoke and pedals. I bought the Wheel Stand Pro for a couple of driving sims I use, but it gets more flight sim use now- works brill. I think it cost £90 and was shipped (in 2 days!) from Poland. If you want pics or anything, just hollow and I'll take 'em and post 'em. EDIT: I think mine may be a bit different to the exact model that you're referring to. Mine is this :- ....but I don't use the throttle "Shelf" as it made the throttle too close to the yoke, for realism. So my throttle is just on the desk to my right.
August 11, 201312 yr Keep in mind that we're talking about a $150 yoke and throttle set here, guys. I appreciate that. However, no springs at all are better than over-tight springs that do nothing except frustrate the experience. It would save Saitek expense if they just got rid of the springs and the detente in the middle. They are not needed. August 11, 201312 yr As promised here's a couple of pics of my actual unit. For me, the main benefit of this device is that (i) I can adjust the yoke to be at exactly the right height. When they're strapped to the desk with the stock saitek clamps, the yoke seems far too high up. (ii) I can move the yoke right out of the way while not flying, in about 5 seconds. Sorry for the grainy pics - taken on Samsung phone in poor light! PS... Yes, that's a REAL fire extinguisher! PPS.... Yes, the callender's still on June !! I'm a mature student and that's when my academic year finished this year.
January 12, 201610 yr Hello, sorry for digging out this thread but i thought it was useless to create a new one. I thinking of using wheelstand pro in thé way q_flyer did show US. I want to know if i will be able to store saitek yoke under the desk when not flying. I'm looking for mesurements : Sorry for bad quality, did this from my phone Kenz CHERIEF - IVAO 122933 - VATSIM 1349276 - GalleryLeonardo Maddog MD80 Procedures Handsheet for beginners
