Trackir 5 fsx profiles repository?

Featured Replies

Just got TIR5 in the mail today. My like-new used unit. :)

Anyway, did all the necessary tweaks for it to work with ezca and fsx.

*however* no way the default settings or "smooth" settings is going to work out of the box. I tweaked smooth to fit my needs but I'd like to try other people's profiles and see if I can get it even better.

I have a single 24" monitor (16:10) so I need a profile that's built around that.

Thanks!

I have no problem with TrackIR working well out of the box.  The only profile I added beyond the default was one called 'fast vertical' which accellerates the pitch axis movement in the initial portion of vertical movement to mimic the up and down eye glance used for instrument scanning.

You might want to try running TrackIR at high priority to see if that makes a difference.

I have that one but there's a problem, it won't accelerate fast enough to the sides. I'm still reading and watching tir tutorials to learn this thing. Not easy but the glimpse of fun I'm getting now has really got me excited... this is just another sim.. wow :O

Seth - Flight is the one you want... Found on their Naturalpoint forums.

I read the manual now.. funny but precision mode wasn't ON by default as you'd expect. I turned it ON and things got a lot better now. Using Seth's flight profile. It still may feel like I need to adjust to go sideways more easier. Although, I may just switch to dedicated side views and be done with it.

Also, I have a window to the wall on my left side. Immediately next to my desk and I noticed the aluminum frame of the window is causing disturbance in trackir camera view... like red dots. I took a curtain and stuck on it until those red dots were gone. Works better now. I wish learning curve was faster. :D

Ick... You've got precision mode on? Ugh that's far too slow for viewing IMO.

Instead of precision just designate a joystick button or mouse wheel click for the Pause feature. It will help with turbulence and those darn planes with tiny VC clickspots.

Here's what it says in the manual:

Standard mode is intended for use with TrackIR 3 or 4. It should only be used with TrackIR 5 under extremely bright lighting conditions when the tracking screen is flickering and tracking is highly unstable. Please consult technical support before using this mode with TrackIR 5.

Precision mode is intended for use with TrackIR 5 and cannot be used by previous generations. It offers superior resolution and tracking stability.

So I figured it's meant to be ON.
