August 9, 201312 yr I'm having a big problem (mostly in the Q400 but also in the NGX) in that the glideslope isn't matching the PAPI at many UK2000 airports but also at Earth Simulation's beta Isle of Man scenery. The GS seems to leave me VERY low on the PAPI and if stick with the PAPI I get a lot of 'glide slope' warnings. Is it just me?
August 9, 201312 yr Did your approach plate have a note about the PAPI and G/S alignment. Many times they do not agree perfectly. Best Regards, Vaughan Martell PP-ASEL KDTW
August 9, 201312 yr It's not unusual at all for the GS and PAPI's to not be aligned. This is how ours is in Duluth. We actually get pilots wondering if something is wrong hehe but the charts say they are not aligned. The GS is an instrument component and the PAPI's are a visual component. Once I break out of the soup I look at the PAPI personally. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
August 9, 201312 yr I'd say to fly the ILS every time, remember an ILS is a precision approach' a visual using PAPI is not. Jeff Commercial | Instrument | Multi-Engine Land AMD 5600X, RTX3070, 32MB RAM, 2TB SSD
