Alright, now I know this topic has been beaten to death, and I want to make it clear I'm NOT requesting for PMDG to add an EFB to the 777. It was my understanding though that PMDG was not incorporating an EFB into the 777 due to the ridiculous cost of data for it, which is completely understandable; however, I just noticed a comment from PMDG on their Facebook page on the post about the update on August 2nd that confirms they have simulated the EFB 100%. I just wanted to ask if that was true or if maybe they meant that the ECL was 100% simulated. The comment is still on their Facebook page and you can see a screenshot of it below. Note that I did block out the person's name who asked if the EFB was there on Facebook to protect their privacy.

As we have previously discussed, the EFB is not planned for initial release.

 

The moderator who made that post on facebook was (I suspect) Vin, and he was confusing the ECL and the EFB...  We were having heavy discussions with the Tech and beta teams over the weekend regarding the ECL.... 

 

We will issue 200 additional bamboo lashings to Vin for the screwup.

 

Our previous position on the EFB stands...  It is a far more complex item than most people realize.  It isn't a matter of creating data tables to simulate something for you- it is a matter of having license to use the data in that fashion.  Right now that would cost $1,500/user per month....   We will continue to look for better solutions.
