meters or feet ?
The only time I have seen this are in Russian aircraft (eg the PT Tu-154M and related projects). I've never seen it done in a Boeing, Airbus, Emby etc. Several add-ons allow to display metric altitude, but that's it; no MPS on the VSI or even KPH speed indication.

Excellent RW Aviation Weather Site
Very nice, thanks for posting!

Changing Image Posting Rules - User Poll
I think it's a pretty good idea. Image hosting takes up a lot of server resources, bandwith, etc. I can understand people's reluctance to make a change which will involve creating an account for image hosting, uploading it and finally posting on AVSIM, but if it helps reduce workload on the servers it's well worth it.

The "Genuine Simulation" A380 scam is taking a step further, don't fall for it !
There's a left lateral shot that you can see some of the NLS logo on the fin. And what appears to be a display from a B787.

Is it any good?: FS Flight Keeper
FSFK really wasn't designed to be a flight planning tool, it's a very comprehensive log book. It captures a ton of data on every flight. I've used it for years and love it. The reports are a nice way of tracking hours/miles by ac, addon, airline, etc.

Oceanic waypoints
You can enter lat/long waypoints in the RTE page (you don't have to enter them in the LEGS page).

Mcp won't switch to CRZ when TC is reached.
The UAL liveries default to CLB when at cruise.

PMDG 747-400 Version 2.0
Hmm, can't find a date but it's a fairly old post. I don't think it's going to be that soon. Just judging that there really haven't been any progress reports or pics as of recent.

Where is that quote from?

How come there's no trial mode for PFPX?
Through its own server, Active Sky, REX, and FS global wx.

How come there's no trial mode for PFPX?
No, you don't. But TOPCAT gives you suggested values for TO thrust, flap settings, etc. Right now for the T7 I'm using a freeware program called UTOPIA which calculates TO performance. In my opinion, PFPX stands out enough to warrant buying, especially if you do long-hauls. Very powerful tool that once you get used to using it, is invaluable. Producing an OFP and exporting it to the relevant programs you use is very easy and fast. I love it. You can copy and paste a route from FlightAware or have PFPX generate a route that takes in to account SIDS/STARS (based on winds and rwy use), all the current oceanic routes, polar routes, fuel consumption, etc.

A320 off topic
It depends on what the meaning of the word "is" is...

Jet route
I'm going to give you an example route where you only have to enter the VIA box (I believe this is what you are referring to) This is part of UA97 Berlin Tegel to Newark that I flew a few nights back. Airways are bolded EDDT BKD UL619 CUTEL UL983 GOW UN563 GILPA Direct XYZ When you have multiple consecutive airways, you can omit entering the fix name. So enter UL619 in the VIA box. Right below UL619, you can enter UL983, and the right side across from UL619 will auto populate the fix CUTEL. Next up enter UN563 in VIA, and GOW will auto populate across from UL983. This only works with consecutive airways. Above, once you reach XYZ then you have to fill the R box with the fix name.

Level of detail is......amazing!
Isn't she great? I've probably spent more time flying than I should, but I can't help it!

Pmdg 777
Quite a ways down the road. I believe I read somewhere around 6 months (?). Again I could be wrong, but it won't be out before SP1.

FMC Alternate Airport
You can manually add an alternate on the ALT page, just type in the ICAO ident and line-select a field that you don't want.

AAL and UAL equipment option
United is marked as accurate in OC, but AA is not. FedEx is also marked accurate.

Q: CLB 1/2 ignored by FLCH?
Okay, that makes sense. I can see where that would definitely be advantageous.
-
Q: CLB 1/2 ignored by FLCH?
Just for my own curiosity, why are you using FLCH on departure instead of VNAV? I've never seen that done before, I'm interested.

How Base package models are decided ?
For the 777, commonality and only one engine type that's used. The 200/200 ER/300 have 3 engine variants, meaning a lot more programming to do before release.

MAN/UTC setting on clock
Same here. Haven't seen anyone else post about this yet.

No electronics
Look at the overhead panel. It is a selectable option in the configuration menu. Some airlines have replaced the No Smoking sign with No Electronics. When it's on, it will annunciate on the EICAS.
