So was bored and just checking out the latest FCOM bulletins issued by Boeing in regards to the T7.

 

Subject: Control Panel (MCP) Altitude Window Changing Without Pilot Action

 

Reason: To inform flight crews that the altitude in the MCP altitude window may change indication without pilot action.

 

Background Info: An operator has experiencedmultiple occurrences of the MCP altitude window indication changing by 1000, 1500, 2000, and 4000 foot increments during climb,cruise, and descent. These changes occured without flight crew input to the MCP.

 

So will PMDG put Casper the ghost in my avionics bay and make my MCP change altitude at random times...Please don't, I don't need any more scary things happening on an overnighter SYD-LAX :He He: :unknw: .

Casper the ghost is a qualified A320/321 F/O - but he doesn't "handle" the MCP - he used to handle the barometer setting ... but his licence has been revoked for a couple of months now.   :ph34r:

Just imagine number of "I think I found a bug", "my mcp doesnt work, HEEEELLLLPPP" and similar topics in case they simulate this.

With the ngx737 they have put it in some of the 737 real world bugs like the doors warning before take-off for instance, so why not?

You would be wrong in your doubts, there are indeed some things included in the sim, that are in the real aircraft that really shouldn't be there, for instance a few little quirks in the FMC that are just plain weird. One of the team was saying only yesterday that they had to break a couple of things in the FMC to be accurate to the real aircraft Don't worry though, its nothing that will affect you during flights, but strange nuances of the real FMC that you really have to dig hard to find, but they have been modelled in the sim, all the same!
