Runway lights - Your opinion PLEASE!!!

Featured Replies

Hi,Number one for me. A bit clearer and distinct looking.cheers,Duke

Thanks & more more votes please! Keep them coming! :-)

Hmmm, no.1 perhaps a bit too saturated, so I vote for no.2... I think... :-roll Regards,

Hi,Number 1...seems sharper

They both look similar. Honestly if someone changed the textures back and forth on my system, I doubt I could even tell the difference. The first one looks a little sharper, while the second one has a bit more white to it.

I agree that number one is a bit too saturated for my eyes as well; especially noticeable in the red VASI lights, which in number one appear as a glowing, poorly defined orb vs in #2 they are sharp and clear, or at least clear-er!My Two Cents, http://www.2decker.com/media/solent1-2.JPGAlex ChristoffN562ZBaltimore, MD

hi, they look almost the same in intensity but the first one seems to have a warmer cast to it. i downloaded a file to darken the lights all round and checking that just now (from carmine?) his do show more separation than these pics but it's all very subjective:+

Definately Number 2

Definitely number 2. Besides, high intensity "rabbit" lights are not blue!

I don't like this test because you are viewing from the ground level. How do they look from approach? The #2 would appear nicer but I suspect (due to those "stars") this is actually version from Chris Arrington package. And they do not look (in my opinion) when viewed from the air since they become very out of focus. The last thing I want about runway/approach lights is the fuzzy look - this is not how it looks in real world.Michael J.WinXP-Home SP2,AMD64 3500+,Abit AV8,Radeon X800Pro,36GB Raptor,1GB PC3200,Audigy 2

To vote based on these shots, I choose #2. I'm also curious what they look like on approach.

I prefer white lights as the amber is not very realistic and makes the VASI and PAPI lights hard to define. I've done my own edit to 'halo.bmp' and this is what I like in as much as runway lighting is concerned.runway.jpgCheers,JohnBoeing 727/737 & Lockheed C-130/L-100 Mechanichttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpg
