August 15, 201312 yr Folks I'm at the limit of my very limited knowledge of FSX inner workings and need some help. I'm trying to tidy up my scenery library. I get the basics on order, but just want to clarify - do all the airports go above everything else? Would have thought they should be above LC/UTX type things. Also, is there a way to edit in note pad, rather than the FSX scenery library settings window? It's not the fastest way to move a lot around, and is temperamental to say the least! Cheers Mike Mike Dryden
August 15, 201312 yr You are correct in regards to order of scenery. You should download and run SceneryConfigEditor - http://sourceforge.net/projects/fs-sceditor/. This allows you to edit your Scenery Library. I use it to disable all addon scenery that I won't be using during a planned flight. This way fsx starts up faster and it runs faster during the flight. August 15, 201312 yr I second that, I have recently started using it, I especially like the grouping function for fast access for disabling and enabling areas with a single click.
August 16, 201312 yr SCE is a good tool but keep in mind that part of how it works is by adding private lines into the scenery.cfg file. I've had other programs that work on scenery.cfg strip out the private lines, resulting in loss of all my grouping. scott s. .
August 16, 201312 yr True, when running the Orbx Central and making changes to for example trees / lighting, then apply, the grouping is lost. Takes me 5 mins to regroup though
