My fsx crashes everytime i fly

Featured Replies

hey my fsx crashes and restarts my computer... sometimes when I am doing a 20 min flight it just crashes... I don't know what to do... any suggestions?

Mohit Mahtani

Try downloading and running AppCrashView - http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/app_crash_view.html and copy the error data in the lower section and paste the results here. It provides a lot more information than the Microsoft crash report (.wer). It looks like the info you provided above is from the Event Viewer which is useful but does not provide a complete report of the crash.

If you are overclocked, you should bring your overclock back to the default settings (save your current overclock settings first if you can). If you have any tweaks in your fsx.cfg, save your fsx.cfg to fsx.orig then restart fsx and let the config rebuild. This procedure has fixed a lot of problems.

Posting of your system specs would also help us to assess your problem.  Many of us post our system specs in the sidebar (see mine).

Best regards,

Jim

sometime once in a while I get a blue screen says dumping memory...

Mohit Mahtani

You over clocked? If I go over a certain clock, I will BSOD when I fly.

If you are getting a BSOD then you need to download and run BlueScreenView - http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html.  What we need to know is the BugCheckString (i.e., DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL) and the BugCheckCode (i.e., 0x0000024).  Most likely you have an unstable overclock.

Okay will check later. But I never overclocked my hard

Okay will check later. But I never overclocked my hard

Overclocking is just one symptom.  If you did not overclock, then it could be a piece of hardware is not installed properly.  It's usually a driver issue.  I use a freeware program (Driver Scanner) that checks my system for updated drivers.  If it finds any that need updating, it will tell me but it will want me to subscribe (payware) if I want the software to automatically download and update the bad drivers.  I can also take a look at what driver is out-of-date and then, using Google/Bing, can search for the updated driver, download and install it myself.

Jim

The reports indicate your video card and sound card are not properly installed.

Okay what should I do then?

Mohit Mahtani

Uninstall the video card and the sound card drivers (look in Add/Remove Programs in your Control Panel).  Download the latest versions for your hardware and install them again.  Here is a link to the latest for the sound - http://www.runscanner.net/lib/P17.sys.html (looks like you do not have an internal sound card and these are Windows Drivers).  For both, the 64 bit versions were installed so you must have a 64 bit Windows OS.  If you do not, then you need to install the 32 bit versions of these drivers.

Your latest NVIDIA drivers are located in the C:\Nvidia\Display Drivers folder.  Click on the latest one and reinstall.

Best regards,

Jim
