777 Documentation Questions

Featured Replies

Boeing Source Material

This question may answer the following questions.  Are you downloading the 777 PDF manuals from My Boeing Fleet and adding a PMDG watermark or is Boeing supplying you the documents in another format like Framemaker? Just curious as to what flexibility Boeing is giving you to modify the documentation if at all.

QRH Functionality

Will the 777 QRH come with bookmarks or will it be in a similar format as the NGX QRH?  When I fly the NGX, I have FSX running on one monitor and the QRH on my second monitor. If I encounter an emergency or abnormal condition, It would be nice to be able to click on the bookmark / hyperlink from the Quick Action Index or Unannunciated Checklist Index item, and be taken directly to the procedure.

PMDG Applicable Content

While I truly appreciate having the entire Boeing FCOM series, FCTM, and QRH available, are you able to somehow differentiate what content is not modeled in PMDG or add your own content to describe how a particular system or feature functions if differently than the real world?

Regards,

Zubin R. Clark

The 777 basically has the QRH in the ECL (fully modelled) so that should be your first go to assuming its working. It'll have the acceptable checklist there waiting for you when you press 'CHKL' (-;

PMDG has included a "user's guide" that shows you how to interface with the plane within FS when the released the NGX so I'm sure the same will be for the 777. I just wish they will have bookmarks because its a pain to scroll through a 1,000 page document on the phone until you have certain page numbers memorized.

I'm pretty sure they have said in the past that the manuals with bookmarks are significantly more expensive to get, enough that it isn't practical.

From what I've seen the only things that are not in the documentation is anything having to do with the flight deck access system and anything else having to do with flight deck security, Other than that, I think everything's there.

I remember PMDG saying that a tabbed manual is more expensive and would increase the price of the product. Just use the search function.

While it's a tedious process, I ended up going through the NGX QRH and manually making bookmarks. I typically have the documentation on my tablet, so once you add the bookmarks it's awfully convenient to just be able to tap the section you and want and jump right to it.
