Oh no! Holger's gone payware!!! Aarrggghhh.Knew it was too good to last, and can't blame him. Better grab all his freeware files, chaps, in case he withdraws them all as others in his position have done on occasion ...... but you wouldn't do that, now, would you, Holger!? Hope not, anyway.Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/newlogo.jpg

Howdy,no worries, Mark, my free stuff will remain so and there will be more soon ;-)It's just that some projects are too big to do as a weekend/spare time kind of thing, unless one is independently wealthy or doesn't mind a two-year development cycle...If you'd excuse me now, I have to finish reading that new Porsche product catalog and tomorrow I have a couple of meetings with real estate agents :-outta Cheers, Holger

Holger:Thanks for picking one of the most beautiful places on earth for FS development (Real World).Got just a taste from the addon tour from a Cruise Ship by float plane. Kind of made mw want to damage the Beaver and just stay there. We approached in level flight with the terrain rising up to meet us and suddenly there was this beautiful charcoal water underneath the Beaver for a low level landing. The spot where we sat down with the waterfall, one abandoned cabin, and the beautiful water along with Sitka and Patmos are the three favorite places I have ever seen in my limited world travels.Hope you enjoy the Porsche and new home, and I am able to afford your contribution.Respectfully:RTH

Ha ha! Nice one, Holger. It's a favourite part of the world for me too, both in reality and FS. That whole Juneau/Ketchikan/Sitka area is magic stuff, whether it's rattling off for a salmon bake in a DHC-2 or taking a helicopter up onto the Mendenhall Glacier (think I've just spelt that wrong, but will never forget standing on a glacier). So I'm looking forward to your new work, for sure. Let me know if you need me to beta test any of that salmon, LOL.Mark "Dark Moment" BeaumontVP Fleet and SalmonDC-3 Fishwayshttp://www.paxship.com/dcalogo.jpg

And this is prolly where I spend 95% of my simtime. I usually fly out of Prince Rupert, Ketchikan or Juneau, flying all round the western region. If you'll let me know where/when that salmon bake is I can bring the bread (a VERY good AK sourdough) and butter. :D :D :D

Sounds like a great place to go.One of my real world friends has moved to Juneau so looks like I will have to make an excuse to go visit.Craig

Mark:You make my mouth water for that Salmon bake. I buy Sockeye from Krogers every time they have some, but of course it is never quite as good as the fresh catch locally in Alaska. For years, my intention has been to simply arrange for a rental place somewhere in the area you describe a little before spring and stay there for months until winter started to set in. However, I don't think I would ever leave if I ever got that close to being an imported native. Coastal temperatures are not as low there as they are in WV where I live. My daughter went to college in Buna Vista Va. with a girl from Juneau. The Juneau native asked how on earth we stood such cold winters in the NE interior and said she was freezing to death. (Being a Gulf Coast native for most of my life, I agree). Some time ago there was a retired gentleman in Alaska who had a web page which he updated each day. He retired somewhere NorthWest of Anchorage from either New York or New Jersey if I remember correctly. Gave very interesting stories and tales of their experiences (Dog races, bears, daily weather reports, history, etc. etc.). After my computer crashed a couple of years ago, I lost the site and sure do miss it. One of my favorite pictures is a "dramatic view in Misty Fjords National Monument outside of Ketchikan" from a 1995 Alaska calendar (February)which I believe is the spot where we landed. I can't wait for this expected great scenery for FS9! Happy Flying:RTH

Howdy, thanks for sharing those interesting stories and thoughts! It would indeed be wonderful if "Misty Fjords" manages to capture just a tiny bit of the magnificent beauty of the SE Alaskan wilderness. If you're interested, here are a few more links to preview screenshots made by our beta testers as well as a short but very fun MP movie by Richard "Chaders" Chadwick:http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...ing_type=searchhttp://forum.fsscreenshots.com/dcboard.php...&mode=full&pagehttp://forums.simflight.com/viewtopic.php?t=30276and this one (56k warning: many high-res shots!):http://f13.aaa.livedoor.jp/~yokomi/cgi-bin..._20~48~48_1.txt Cheers, Holger

Holger,Always a fan, but you have outdone yourself. A work of art.Jordan Moore

Thahnks for the link, those shots are beautiful,Regards,Francois

Excellent! Chader's video is a must-see! I don't remember seeing an FS video that would remind me so much of real aviation videos in its style and camera work. And the music is killing me! Thanks, Holger. Can't wait for the release.Michal
