Daniel, Hello!Daniel, as I said to someone else earlier in another thread, AS2004.5 deals with atmospherics. They move, the clouds, they scatter, spread out, turn to the slightest of wisps...tendrils, etc. All in REAL TIME.You have to see with your own eyes the cloudscape building, letting up, far, near and away.Screen shots are such a 'dead-zone' for this product. Truly the bottom line is, if you ever longed to fly through the skies and banks of clouds spotted whilst laying upon your back on a low hill as a lad---then buy this program. Why? It will let you do all of that...:) It will let you do all of that.....Cheers!Mitch R.

When I get a chance, and some interesting build, I'll snap one or two off if you insist, but as I said and will repeat. Screen shots do not give you the 'other' and equally important half of rendering a verbatim sky to your eyes and brain...movement! The clouds past you, and yourself past the clouds via the pilot's seat....I'll post some though...Mitch R.

Hi Mitch,Please do this in the Screen Shot Forum. You are getting bites from the FS04 Default Weather Bugs!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg

Yep. 2004.5 is great. Wonderful job.

Mike, I'm in Vancouver. Pop me an e-mail and you can come and see it work on my system.I also was once an FSMeteo user, I won't go back. Jim

Roll on mid-December when I get some $$$ to buy this. Not sure about downloading via a dial-up modem. Presume it comes as a CD that can be posted??Can't wait!CheersTim

Jim, thanks for speaking up here. Again, I am in no way mocking your product - I am sure it is a very good product. My curiosity is strictly with exactly what it provides of FSMeteo.Do you by chance have that product? Could you chime in here on what you consider the top 3 things you have that FSMeteo does not?I can be sold on this, I just NEED to be sold on it. (then again, maybe being just one potential customer, may not be worth it, I would fully understand)

Post a link to your screenshots please.Daniel

So you got a weather radar in active sky?Is it possible to run this cool module on another computer to save brainpower?I got good FPS but if I put too much in there it won't be that great.By the way I am so happy with FS2004 in comparison to FS2002! FS2002 weather sucks big time! The weather in FS2004 default is awesome. AWESOME!The only flaw I noticed is in mountains the low lying mist/cloud does not merge into the side of the mountain realistically. It creates like a 'line' around the elevation of the mountain. Does this happen in Activesky?

Hi Mike,As the purchaser you need to be the final decision maker. No, I have never owned FSMeteo and wouldn't begin to compare the two. Some have one, some have the other, some have both, and some have neither. As long as there is satisifacation by the user then that is what our goal is. If you NEED to be sold on this, then I am not the one to ask!!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg

Hi,Yes a weather radar is included. While AS can be run on another computer through FSUIPC and WideFS, the Active Radar must be run on the same machine as FS04.The mist/cloud thing is due to FS cloud textures and is fixed with 3rd party clouds. We recommend FSW clouds by Chris.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg

understood, thanks Jim

One illusion observed while above full overcast in real life is the 'overcast as ground' phenomenon. As a passenger on many real flights, solid overcast many times gives the illusion that it can be 'landed on.' Although FS2004 features 3D clouds, I did not experience this environment in the sim until I purchased Active Sky a couple weeks ago. A screenshot would not portray this effect in my opinion, but it is experienced for sure while simming. What's more, long flights become far more interesting, as you are not simply flying through the same weather theme the entire flight but rather a constantly changing cloudscape.John M.
