August 30, 201312 yr Hello fellow captains, There is something happening to me that wasn't before.. I do not understand why, but on start up, while getting everything ready for take off, my left engine ( always it) starts gaining thrust from 20 to max, then drops out and goes back up again.. As soon as it starts doing it, I have an engine fail sign and if I dont take off fast enough, I end up with a dead engine ... I follow my check lists as usual.. I really don't understand what's happening.. Any idea ?

August 30, 201312 yr Wow lots of copies of this post! (Not your fault) Are you using the FS2Crew startup? Is your fuel cutoff lever in the right position? - - Tommy - -

August 30, 201312 yr lol...11 times has to be a new record Are your throttles properly calibrated? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dana Palmer KJAC
August 30, 201312 yr Author I am so sorry about the multiple posts, it ketp on saying the server was down Shame on me Are your throttles properly calibrated? Yes, they are.. I did not change a thing.. At least nothing that i'm aware of.. Are you using the FS2Crew startup? Is your fuel cutoff lever in the right position? No i'm not a fan of fs2crew, and yes the fuel lever is in the right position. It happens after engine on procedure Can you post a screenshot? I am currently at work but I can yes. You'll only see that my engine levels are not the same..
August 30, 201312 yr I have had something similar, where one engine would refuse to spool up, despite setting everything up correctly. The only advice that I can give you is to restart your FSX, since this fixes it for me. Kevin Tao
August 30, 201312 yr Hello Ben, I had the problem happen to me a few weeks ago, I too was following a checklist (Not from FCOM, User made downloaded from the internet) When I did a cold and dark start-up, everything went well until engine start. The number two engine would always spool up correctly but engine number one would not do the same. (N2 wasn't even spinning) I then knew that this was a problem that had something to do with the air circulation panel meaning a switch was not in the correct position. I then referred to the 737 FCOM provided by PMDG and I found out that despite downloading the checklist and following it, I did not put the Isolation Valve Switch (Located in between the packs switches)to the Auto position. This solved my problem and I hope it helps you too If that doesn't work, Then try follow the checklist in the FCOM PRECISELY and in the correct order it is listed. If that does not solve your problem, then I would suggest re-installing your copy of the 737 NGX. Cheers -Daniel
August 30, 201312 yr Author Thank you so much Daniel, I am pretty sure I do not put the isolation Valve switch on AUTO but on OFF.. It must be it, I'll give a try tonigt B)
August 30, 201312 yr The other thing to bare in mind, is that if you are doing a crossbleed start of the No1 without an APU operative supplying bleed air, you will need to advance the throttles slightly to increase the air pressure supplied by the No 2 engine. (Caught me out before!) Otherwise you won't have enough air pressure to start No 1. Also check the Bleed switch setting as mentioned earlier, and you can also check the Gauge above the bleed switches to ensure that you're getting enough pressure to start the No 1 engine. August 31, 201312 yr Author Thank you Andrew but Daniel got it right on this one, that was an isolation valve problem. I've been flying a couple hours now and the probleme is gone.
