September 1, 201312 yr http://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/has-haswell-really-improved-battery-life/ Read the first paragraph. Thank you. Sorry, I was mixing up things here, just realized you were talking about battery efficiency. In terms of raw CPU power gain compared to Sandy Bridge / Ivy Bridge, the Haswell isn't that impressive unfortunately. Guess their focus really was on efficiency. Christian Adrigan
September 1, 201312 yr i only fly on addon scenery Ok, like what scenery? And what monitor resolution? I am actually not asking for me but for others! I think everyone should present their results honestly so that a potential upgrader does not buy something he later regrets (not saying you are not honest, just double checking and trying to understand what you are using and why your results are so good!) If you really have better performance then I do, than that is great for you (not being sarcastic here either). But there is realy no situation where your frame rate drops below 50? I find that hard to believe, but if that is the case....congrats....you hit the jackpot :-) And there is something else to good performance besides frame rate. Smoothness! Maybe you have smoothness too....but I only have that at a fixed 30fps. There is no point of having 50fps or more if it stutters or tears. (again, not saying you have stutters) I have a pretty much (micro) stutter free experience except for the heaviest of loads where I cant maintain my fixed 30fps. The reason for that is the smoothness the 1/2Vsync method brings when FSX maintains 30fps fixed. 1/2Vsync does not work below or above 30fps on a 60Hz monitor. Rob Robson
September 1, 201312 yr Not sure if you'd be interested in spending this much but several members of the PMDG team run it in Bootcamp mode on 15" Apple MacBook Pros. There's probably some better PC laptops in terms of performance, but none that will come close to the design and build quality you get from the MBP. Most PC "gaming" laptops I've seen are super bulky and have terrible battery life. I may try this, bought a Retina MacBook Pro last week. Liam Giles

Ok, thx. I think UTX in combination with addon airports takes quite a toll on my system. Will be trying ORBX FTX Alaska as my next region and see how that does with Aerosoft Anchorage :-) Rob Robson
September 1, 201312 yr No we used a windows disc and rebooted it that way. i did try downloading new drivers but same thing nothing would use it. Tested the gpu to make sure it was working and it was fine so something wacky with windows. Tyson Dohrer
