Hi Rick,

That's good news. I wish I could have a 840 Pro as a spare! You need to get that new PC built.

I've been doing some flying today given the rubbish weather. Madrid - London this morning and currently flying back. I discovered 15L&R were redesignated last year and wasted a couple of hours trying to get help from the Aerosoft forum on how to update the Afcads. Seems there is an official patch but they failed to mention it.

Plenty of available space as you say Noel. You will have seen my earlier post where there is no price or space gain to choosing 2 x 8400 Pro 128Gb drives or a single 512Gb one. I think I will stick to your suggestion of a 512Gb and put the pagefile on an HDD.

Here is some evidence of how it is possible to keep writes to a minimum and offloading page file writes to a separate HDD.  My page file is only 1Gb.  I have FSX running in Slew mode fairly fast over the scenery...

Hi Noel

Can you kindly guide me through putting that page file.sys to the storage 1Tb hard drive? Thanks.

Control Panel > System > Advanced System Settings > Advanced Tab > Performance > Settings Button >Advanced Tab > Virtual Memory > Change your SSD to No Paging File and your 1TB to whatever you like, or system managed on that drive only.

Thanks Noel. Just doing so. I seem to recall having done this before for a conventional PATA/SATA hard drives but was not too sure about doing it with an SSD-based system.

Hi Noel

Since moving that PageFile.sys from the SSD to the spare 1Tb hard drive, I'm now seeing BSODs(Blue screen CTDs) accompanied by a BCCode 124 Windows Crash Report. Any idea why this should happen?

I'm guessing you didn't physically cut/paste pagefile.sys to the 1Tb drive, correct?  If not that, than I have no idea what happened.  If you set it up as fixed size you could go back and change it to system managed.

No, I did not cut and paste it, but where you pointed me to, I took off the Virtual Memory for the SSD and checked the one for the 1Tb as a managed.

Will try your suggestion. I'd like to know what this BCCode124 Windows Error is. Searching for it has not given me a definitive answer. Maybe some wizard will come up with an answer.
