September 3, 201312 yr Hi FS2Crew, I've used FS2Crew with wilco 737, wilco airbus, the LVL-D 767 and Flight1's C172 with FS2Crew (FS9 versions) Now that the probably most comprehensive and complex GA aicraft for FSX ever is out - A2A C172 - what do you think of talking to them about a new version of FS2Crew? Kind regards, Alex Rui Laureano Lisboa, Portugal
September 3, 201312 yr It's not a multicrew aircraft and usually flown by a single pilot, so what would tasks could FS2Crew perform? If you have another pilot on something like the C172, they usually help you with navigation, looking out for traffic and flying the aircraft, which FS2Crew can't really assist you with (to be honest they're usually an instructor!) I suppose there are some brief checklists and flows to go through. ckyliu, proud supporter of ViaIntercity.com. i5 12400F, 32GB, RTX4070, more in "About me" on my profile.
September 3, 201312 yr Commercial Member I actually did a 172 version a long, long time ago. It was a 'lite' version... just checklists. Button control only. I could do another one using all the latest advances... but the thing is it's a 172... it's a one pilot plane. All it would be is checklists, no flows. You willing to pay for that? B. September 3, 201312 yr I would .... I bought your I edition! The quality and realism of the A2A C172 is unprecedented, so I would happily pay for a FS2Crew version for it, that was priced fairly. Although it is a 1 pilot aircraft, in reality, most C172s take off with a CFI and a Student on board; so why not do a FS2Crew edition that simulates that (the checklists being called by the CFI and done by the student (the user)). You could even put more of the FS2Crew function into the cruise section - eg perhaps the CFI could perform some instruction, or give warnings and guidance where procedures and flying performance are deviated from.
September 3, 201312 yr Commercial Member I can't make a virtual Flight Instructor. Best I could do is checklists, voice and button control. But what's that worth to you? B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
September 11, 201312 yr Bryan... I will be more than happy with a adapted version of your old fs2crew for the 172... if it is the usual range of your prices, better!!! while you wait for the T7 sdk... :-)

If the 777 SDK takes forever and I have a gap in my sched, I may be able to fit the 172 in. Best, B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
September 11, 201312 yr It's probably not polite to mention other competitive products in the FS2Crew forum, but I think there are other multicrew or fs flight school type programs available that would be far more appropriate to a small single pilot general aviation aircraft. I say FS2Crew should stick with the the airline ops.

September 29, 201312 yr Author Bryan, It's great to know you'll think about it. True it is a one man airplane but what your original 172 addon does is add a lot of immersion. Normal and emergency briefings, including for the passengers, FBO reporting... And as the A2A version includes a lot of detail and a lot can malfunction, perhaps that would allow you to include more options like malfunction reports (engine running rough, flaps trouble), etc, when reporting to the FBO, for example. I have another idea in the back of my mind, like options that could apply to professional uses of the C172 and not only "weekend flying". A2A includes a Civil Air Patrol livery. I'm going to check something and get back to you. Either way, just like marviglione wrote, I'd be happy with just an updated version of your Lite version. Alex Rui Laureano Lisboa, Portugal
September 29, 201312 yr Commercial Member Alex, Email me your idea. Cheers, B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
September 30, 201312 yr Voice control I hope. Bryan don't you feel like sometimes your going back to the old days, with people asking for the FO to fly (remember the FO takeoffs in the 737s?) and the 172. Looking forward to it if something does come to fruition. Lee
