September 3, 201312 yr Hey, recently I stepped from the normal fsx camera, with the mouse and hat switch on the joystick to TrackIR, now i am able to zoom in, more realistically (zoom 0.80) and i can move my head i a circle motion without touching the keyboard or the hat switch. i must say it can feel that you see very little with zoom 0.80 sometimes, but i wondered, and the question is for the Beta Team: what zoom do find the best with the 777? I know it's personal taste though. I want to save some time by relying on the beta team, prepare the opus camera for a quick ride. so every opinion or comment about that is much appreciated! thanks, cheers. Daniel choen
September 3, 201312 yr Commercial Member what zoom do find the best with the 777? 1.0 - most realistic, non-distorted view 0.5 to 0.7 - more realistic periphery Strike a balance that you find comfortable. There is no answer to this question. Kyle Rodgers

Kyle, saw your vids, if i remember correctly you're using zoom 0.80? BTW i figured there's no answer, but honestly i was looking for recommendations. thanks for helping. Daniel choen
September 3, 201312 yr Commercial Member I'm running 0.9 with it myself. September 4, 201312 yr I have a 27" and I'm running at 0.70 with the camera zoomed back towards the headrest using EZCA. For me, 0.60 is too fish eye but 0.80 is too close and I lose peripheral. It's going to depend on monitor size and personal preference. AJ Pongress
September 4, 201312 yr For me, it's 0.80 to takeoff (so I can scan PFD, ND and EICAS without panning), and 1.00 all other times. I find flying visual approaches difficult at any setting other than 1.00 as you need a balance of peripheral vision but also the ability to gauge your trajectory towards the runway touchdown zone. It took me a week in beta to perfect a handflown ILS in the 777 because the NGX HGS had made me lazy! Mark Adeane - NZWN
September 4, 201312 yr I use .90 in the NGX, but have settled on .75 for the 777. Just got another MCP though, so I will work towards getting closer to .9 again. I do have TrackIR but just never quite got used to it so EZCA works for me. Best- Carl Avari-Cooper
