September 4, 201312 yr Is it Worth changing from the saitek drivers to Spad . I don't have the registered version of FSUIPC. I have the switch/multi/radio and fip. Get occasional crashes but overall they work fine with most of my planes , do use track Ir so where the panels don't always work the vc is fine for me Understand Spad solves a minor problem with the a2a Cessna (my next buy) but wondered if its worth of changing to this driver just for this. Or will it turn into a saga of fix one problem create another Suppose what I am asking is Spad easy to use and worth changing to ? Thanks for any opinions Steve 3080rtx on a i7 12700k with 32 Gig ddr5. 2gig Ssd Quest 2 Windows 11
September 4, 201312 yr Personally I avoided the official drivers and used nothing, but SPAD. I didn't have issues with the official drivers with the exception of the BIP, just SPAD offers way more functionality and the ability to correct the radio dialing speeds.
September 4, 201312 yr Agreed with Vincent. I never have used the Saitek drivers. From day one have used SPAD with no problems at all. Looking forward to using it with my soon-to-purchased BIP. My MSFS 2020 repaints: Flightsim.to - Profile of HStreet Working on MSFS 2024 versions.
September 4, 201312 yr Author Thanks I assume I will need to uninstal the saitek ones first ? Also does Spad just instal and work or do you have to then assign buttons and dials within the software? Ie is it easy to use ? Cheers 3080rtx on a i7 12700k with 32 Gig ddr5. 2gig Ssd Quest 2 Windows 11
September 4, 201312 yr Tried SPAD a few times, then removed it.. Saitek drivers work perfectly for me, but to get the radio to dial correctly, you need to remove the FS9/FS2004 drivers... I did that and now my radio panels work just fine. Seems FSX tries to load both sets of drivers every time it runs, thus the tuning inaccuracy problems, which are solved simply by removing the drivers you are not using, from the start menu and the saitek folder.. September 5, 201312 yr SPAD assigns the defaults to the radio panel but has a little extra functionality out of the box. Instead of drivers, it is an .exe executable file. You can chose to load at Windows login, run it manually before FSX startup or put it in the exe.xml file. I use a script file to start FSX (and all auxiliary software) so it is a line in that file. September 5, 201312 yr Author Thanks Henry does that also mean you can leave the saitek drivers installed but just shut them down and then run the Spad.exe if you want to use Spad for a particar plane ? Can't try currently as away for a couple of days Cheers 3080rtx on a i7 12700k with 32 Gig ddr5. 2gig Ssd Quest 2 Windows 11
September 5, 201312 yr Unknown to me Steve if you can leave the Saitek drivers installed but I doubt that would work. Certainly, uninstalling the Saitek drivers and doing a test with SPAD would take a relatively short time and you could always re-install Saitek if not pleased with SPAD.
