November 12, 200421 yr I can max out fs; no more simple clouds, no effects, sliders to the left, no aa etc. Up from an amd 2600 & fx5200 to p4 ht [email protected], 1gig ram + geforce 6800gt,400w pwr, sata harddisk and latest asus mobo. But now a question...who can tell me which one has the fps friendliest vc; ariane or pmdg 737.....nothing else please.
November 12, 200421 yr Does readability matter, or is it just FPS friendly that counts? The two usually move in opposite directions... Bert
November 13, 200421 yr PMDG 737... FS2020 Alienware Aurora R11 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700F - Windows 11 Home 32GB Ram NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC 16GB - Pimax Crystal Light VR
November 13, 200421 yr I have virtually your same sys, and do run ActiveSky, ActiveCamera, FSG mesh, FDC, etc.I find the PMDG 737 to be hard enough on this system where, depending on the weather, it's wise to turn down autogen by one or two notches, cloud density to low-medium. Even with this it can be a bit of a hog for sure. Don't know about Arianne. I love the 737ng but again, it is definitely more of a hog than my other payware. It's really fine, but just needs downturned a tiny amount to retain smoothness sometimes.Noel Noel System: 9900X3D Noctua NH-D15 G2, MSI Pro 650-P WiFi, G.SKILL 64GB (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6000, WD NVMe 2Tb x 1, Sabrent NVMe 2Tb x 1, RTX 4090 FE, Corsair RM1000W PSU, Win11 Home, LG Ultra Curved Gsync Ultimate 3440x1440, Phanteks Enthoo Pro Case, TCA Boeing Edition Yoke & TQ, Cessna Trim Wheel, RTSS Framerate Limiter w/ Front Edge Sync. Aircraft used in MSFS 2024: Fenix A320, Aerosoft CRJ, FBW, WT 787X, I-Fly 737 MAX 8, Citation Longitude.
November 13, 200421 yr Thanks for the response, I guess smooth gauges is the most important issue for accurate flight so it narrows the difference to that.....but too smooth and it will eat pc recources. I have cs727 and find the gauges udate slooooww which make it quite useless..a shame cause the model and vc are imo spot-on.
November 13, 200421 yr Author Showoff! ;)No question the PMDG is the cat's meow. You get dozens of liveries for free, two models or four depending on whether you buy both packages. A 2D panel and a better VC. At just under 68 USD you can have a full featured 737NG with the 600/700/800/900 variants, a real TCAS II, an awesome FMC with holds and lots more, 2 different styles of panel (EFIS/MAP or PFD/ND), and a complete autopilot with all modes and CWS!The Arinae is 90 USD and you get a less detailed VC, no 2D panel, PFD/ND only, 900 Alaska variant only, and only a few features the PMDG doesn't have, but not much, like an IRS.No question which is better to me. The PMDG may be harder on frame rates in VC, but it looks better and there's always 2D panel. - Chris Gigabyte Z790 Aorus Elite AX | Intel Core i9 13900KF | Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4090 24 GB | 64GB DDR5 SDRAM | Corsair H100i Elite 240mm Liquid Cooling | 1TB & 2TB Samsung Gen 4 SSD | 1000 Watt Gold PSU | Windows 11 Pro | Thrustmaster Boeing Yoke | Thrustmaster TCA Captain X Airbus | Asus ROG 38" 4k IPS Monitor (PG38UQ) Asus Maximus VII Hero motherboard | Intel i7 4790k CPU | MSI GTX 970 4 GB video card | Corsair DDR3 2133 32GB SDRAM | Corsair H50 water cooler | Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SSD (2) | EVGA 1000 watt PSU - Retired
