November 13, 200421 yr took a look at the reality xp instruments and am interested. couple of questions though, it says they're pop-ups so does that mean they can be resized and moved to different cockpit locations and how do they blend colorwise? they look grey in color and would match the lear45 but what about other colored panels? william
November 13, 200421 yr They blend well with most panels. Check out the reality-xp site, and you will find lots of user provided configuration files for many popular addons. (go to Community, then User Files). You will find a lot of panels where the gauges have already been added. Many also contain screenshots so you can see how they work. The manuals are also available for download so you can read them ahead of time. There are numerous options for each of the gauges. For the Jetline 2 and 4, it is best to integrate them right into the panel, then have the popup option available as well (but not needed as long as they are readable). I have every one of their products except the GPS units (I'm more of a VOR and ADF guy myself). The JL 2 and 4 are absolutely incredible, and the WX500 adds another layer of realism to flightsim. If you want smooth gauges, they are a good way to go. They go great with most addons, especially the Eaglesoft biz jets. The Citation X with the JL4 is one of my favorite addons. http://www.reality-xp.com/community/files.htm ------------------------- Craig from KBUF
November 14, 200421 yr RXP is top notch quality! I have both JetLines (2 and 4), the GPS 530, and WX500 Radar. All of these are so nice, I can't put it into words. The GPS is going to be redone to a new version, but the one that's out now is so cool. It's crytal clear and very realistic. It makes the MS one look like a cartoon. The WX radar is also a very cool add-on. Best looking radar I've ever seen. You won't be sorry with any thing from them. - Chris Gigabyte Z790 Aorus Elite AX | Intel Core i9 13900KF | Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4090 24 GB | 64GB DDR5 SDRAM | Corsair H100i Elite 240mm Liquid Cooling | 1TB & 2TB Samsung Gen 4 SSD | 1000 Watt Gold PSU | Windows 11 Pro | Thrustmaster Boeing Yoke | Thrustmaster TCA Captain X Airbus | Asus ROG 38" 4k IPS Monitor (PG38UQ) Asus Maximus VII Hero motherboard | Intel i7 4790k CPU | MSI GTX 970 4 GB video card | Corsair DDR3 2133 32GB SDRAM | Corsair H50 water cooler | Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SSD (2) | EVGA 1000 watt PSU - Retired
November 14, 200421 yr To integrate the instruments into a panel I use FSPanelStudio for my own custom layouts, a seperate payware product. There are other freeware solutions. I use the Reality EZ-Config intaller to get the instruments into their proper folders then do the panel layout.I use the two JLs, WX500, and Apollo 50 GPS from the FLA series on both GA and commuter turbo-props and jets. The exceptional clarity of the gauges allows me to keep the gauge sizes appropriate to the panel layout (19 in. monitor) and read them without needing to use pop-ups.
November 14, 200421 yr thanks. if i get it i'll probably use the panel that comes with it. thanks again, william
November 14, 200421 yr To answer one more of your questions, unless it has changed, some of the gauges have a setting in their .ini file that allows their frame to be transparent. If your panel bitmap has a cutout painted in and you fit a gauge to it it will match the panel color. If you know how to edit panel.cfg, you can control the size and placement of the pop-ups as well.If you have not done so already, check the community section of the Reality-XP site to see what panel configurations are available and if necessary learn how to edit the panel.cfg to fit pop-ups or integrate gauges into your panels of choice. On that site you should be able to download user manuals for the current product line to see how the gauges operate and can be customized. It reads more complex than it actually is..The site also has a link to their support forum so you can read other comments. One important issue to bring out is that by modifying some values in the gauge .ini files for the JL series, you can control the color and intensity of the various readouts in each gauge. This gives you the clarity you need to match your monitor type (CRT vs. LCD) and resolution.
November 14, 200421 yr Hi,here are two images of the Jet Line 4 gauges, the first without the bezel (frame), the second a pop up with the bezel in the Dreamfleet 737-400 in FS2004.http://www.ils-online.ch/cgi-bin/album/dat...Unbenannt_2.JPGhttp://www.mitglied.lycos.de/simdream/DF734.JPG
November 14, 200421 yr thanks Uwe, look pretty nice. would you happen to have a pic of the panels that come with it for the kingair350 and the lear45? william
November 14, 200421 yr Hi,one panel is installed for each of the Jet Line displays, the King Air for the Jet Line 2, the Lear for the Jet Line 4. I have converted my default aircraft to ai, thus can
November 14, 200421 yr Here is the Lear JL4 and a Flight1 C421 JL2, just to show what can be done.. Bert
November 14, 200421 yr thanks Uwe, you don't need to make any more photos, i've seen enough and am satisfied. thanks again. william
November 14, 200421 yr thanks very much for the pics bert, very impressive. i'm trying to decide to either get the jetline products or eaglesofts new jet. maybe both and maybe neither, i have a way of biting off more than i can chew. i've already lost some good flying time the last 2 days just by looking at all the cool stuff out there. a new OS will probably be in order soon judging the platforms most addons require and that means reinstalling EVERYTHING. just some things running through my mind as i think about all this. thanks very much for all the help you guys gave. william
