September 6, 201312 yr Hi All I have blocks of repeating textures in FTX Global like you get when FSX default is enabled - although they are FTX textures and not FSX default. Is this normal? It doesn't bother me, I just want to make sure it's normal and I don't have something screwy going on with my install. This pic was taken in Bosnia. Thanks
September 6, 201312 yr It's normal. I'm finding the more I fly around the world in FTXG it's more hype than actual product.

September 6, 201312 yr Author I don't have an issue with textures repeating when they look so much better than default! Just wanted to make sure it wasn't any kind of error!

The textures will be placed exactly like they would in default FSX unless you use a lanclass addon like e.g UTX too tell them where to go..... It's not a hype, it does what it's suppesed to nothing more nothing less. The Open LC Products is ment to fix these kind of things, but you can aswell use other devs landclass addons to fix the checkerboard effect... I bought all UTX releases to avoid this+ to get better vector data.
September 6, 201312 yr No error. Just a reflection of the poor landclass placement in FSX default. New textures won't solve it, but a landclass product like XClass or SceneryTech might. They're cheap and worth getting if it at some point would start to bother you. Simmerhead - Making the virtual skies unsafe since 1987!
September 6, 201312 yr Disagree, as an example Sedona AZ was red in FSX default but even after the FTXG patch most of AZ still looks terrible.

Go to the orbx forum and complain, and give them the location. And Im sure they gonna fix that in the next patch. They do listen you know, if you can put up critique in a constructive manner

They do listen you know, if you can put up critique in a constructive manner  Why? They made big promises about this patch but didn't deliver why would they change? They don't take kindly to criticism. They started a thread about green deserts but the patch didn't do much to correct the situation.
September 7, 201312 yr Can you give me the exact location and I'll check how things look in my setup just to be sure that it isn't something else that causes it? Edit: Tested Sedona, Arizona. I have desert,,, Nothing green too see at all
September 7, 201312 yr Can you give me the exact location and I'll check how things look in my setup just to be sure that it isn't something else that causes it? Edit: Tested Sedona, Arizona. I have desert,,, ?/ Then something is really messed up for you since Sedona is not desert.
September 7, 201312 yr ?/ Then something is really messed up for you since Sedona is not desert. The town isn't desert and not the area in close proximity but there are desert areas around, I compared it with Google Earth and it looks very correct B) Used the F18 so I got to the desert pretty fast..
September 7, 201312 yr Too much desert, too much green, desert where there's no desert, not enough green... oy vey.
September 7, 201312 yr Here are a couple of screens, are you seing the same? From what I can see, the textures are correct compared to Google maps, allthough the whole town is missing, but that is just because the default landclass sucks, I tested with UTX also, and they haven't included the town either..
September 7, 201312 yr Try comparing it at 6000ft not 35000. FSX defalt scenery had some of the proper red rock in it. FTXG erased it all.
