November 16, 200421 yr I notice that a post asking for user experience/comparison of the PSS and Altitude Concorde products was moved to the PSS forum.PSS reserve the right to decide what posts are displayed on their forum. I have no problem with that, but I don't think I am going to see many posts there which rate the Altitude product above the PSS one :) (I don't have either product yet so I have no opinion to offer either way).I suggest comparison threads are retained in the more public forums, and that threads are only moved to the supplier forums if they are solely concerned with that supplier's product. What do others think?--Bryn
November 17, 200421 yr I concur. As far as I understood, the PSS Forum is mainly for support. Posts dealing with the pros and cons of products do not seem to fit that description ;-)
November 17, 200421 yr I agree...the SSTSIM forum as well, locked my post and said they didnt want any mention of competing products on their forum....but if you look at the pss response to my inquiry youll see 1 thing is for certain, the PSS Concorde is a 2D ONLY flyer. The vc is all but useless for controlling the systems in flight as not even the alt, hdg, crs or speeds are clickable...and no further updates are intended.its a shame, i was looking forward to all those nice little features & effects but i cant deal w/ 2D cockpits anymore, as the proper feel of flight and perspective out the window just isnt there.Im sticking w/ Altitude apparentlyDave Dave Kalin Excel Classes Computer Lessons
November 17, 200421 yr I agree. (As long as it's not A***** vs. P***) :-)Doug Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage. November 17, 200421 yr I noticed the posts were moved as well. Let me get this straight. We can't discuss the PSS in this forum but have to do it in the moderated PSS one? Where do we have a "real" discussion about the aircraft?
November 17, 200421 yr Seems like people agree with me so far. Any comment from the moderators?--Bryn
November 17, 200421 yr Author Yeah, I will respond... Comparison topics are just fine in this forum. The issue is, and remains, that comparision threads degrade into infantile rants by one proponent or another, and get removed or locked. I can count on one hand the number of comparison topics that haven't been locked or removed. Its very simple... have an adult/mature conversation about comparisons, get your facts straight, and the topic will stand. Let it devolve to the usual dribble and flame war, with little or no facts, stuffed with distortions and deliberately misleading statements, and they are gone. I have already responded about the topic that was moved to the PSS forum. It should not have been.
