Hi all

 

With limited free time, I am trying to do some short test flights on the fly, without going through too much of the manual.  So here are my problems

 

1. If I load panel state SHORT, I can never get default ATC to work.  ATC works however if I load panel state LONG.

 

2. If I load panel state LONG, I can never get the APU to start.  I have GPU connected, fuel pumps on, press and hold APU to START and it clicks back to ON after 2 seconds, but I never get the message APU running. (APU gen is on).  A fault message appears for a fraction of a second just under the Start switch, I checked FMC and can not see any faults.  The APU works if I start with engines running, turn the aircraft all off and all back on.

 

3. The panel start state in the FMC is blank, ie engines running, however when I select the 777 in free flight, the engines are off, I need to then select the aircraft in game and when it loads, the engines are running. (this problem is not a big deal).

 

4. If I select panel state Cold and Dark.  The aircraft is dead, with battery off.  From the manual, as far as I can see, I need to switch the battery ON.  When I do this, nothing changes, FMC is blank (so can´t select GPU), no NAV lights if ON, all glass displays are blank so even if I try APU start I don´t know when it starts.  I am using page 214 of 1210 to try these procedures.

 

 

Appologies for skipping the manual, I have a baby to look after, but would also like some flying time without always starting with engines on.  Loving the aircraft and hope to iron out the few issues I have.

For 1 check the pinned topic on start of forum you propably have not set the radios correctly

 

For 4 correct

behavior bat in 777 gives power for APu start only you need either APu or gpu. Cold and dark has some other issues currently check also pinned topic

I dont want to hijack your topic, if I save my flight on for example the approach, the panel state doesnt load automatically. On the NGX this worked sometimes neither, but for 80% of the times it worked. Now it fails 100%. Does anyone recognize this problem?

 

And sometimes I can't use the ATC as well while loading panel statses.

I sometimes have radio issues as well. The radio is set correctly but the ATC box doesn't appear properly. All I get is the outline of the box or it doesn't show altogether.

That will probably fix my panel state Short. Would be good to work out the APU problem with the long state and how to power up from cold and dark.

APU is a quirk on your system (works for me). Power up from c&d - as per the manuals - requires you to keep the MENU button on the CDU pressed in order to access the ground connections options there.

My CDU is black after loading cold and dark and still black after pressing battery.  I will check it´s not a livery problem, these problems are with the Fedex incase that helps in any way?

It's evident that you are not reading the manual. The cdu is soupposed to be back with no power. Hold the menu button til it powers up!

Forget about the battery button - use the MENU button. It's on the CDU.

 

Oh, and, of course, start reading the intro manual!!!

I am having the same issue with the ATC box going blank during flight. ATC will command an action, turn, descend, climb or clearance for an approach, but I am not able to respond as the ATC box is blank. Startup, taxi, T/O are all working fine. I have cycled the cables head frequencies back and forth, turned all 3 gable heads off but that will not correct the problem. After several attempts by ATC  asking me to respond, they end up terminating my IFR flight plan at which time the text comes back into view in the box, and I end up reentering the IFR flight plan all over again. Anyone else have this issue?

This is defiantly a PMDG problem. The ATC Box works great on all my other aircraft in FSX

Asticou, I'm having exactly the same problem. I'm going to go back over the manual as I was just mucking around and keen to get my hands on it but initial problem is that.
