Reality XP Install

Featured Replies

I have just recently purchased the RXP530 unit. After install, I ran the Carenado rxp utility to install the new nav.

Problem is, I went to set the SET LINk GPS = ON in the rxpgns.ini in the panel folder and no such file exists........ I did some reading and saw to try and use the reality xp config utility but when I select the Malibu from the list i get an error then it says the nav is already configured in the panel.....

How do I get the rxpgns.ini file in my panel folder?

Thanks,

Rich

It looks to me that when you run Carenado's .exe for the GNS530 installation, it changes the code in the panel.cfg so that Window 00 becomes the RXPGNS530. Check to see if you panel.cfg is changed with it. I don't know if this will help or not.

Sorry, I didn't see this earlier.  If you have another plane with a similar configuration, simply copy the .ini file from that plane to the main Malibu folder (..\fsx\simobjects\Carenado PA46_Malibu_Mirage\) and then edit as needed.  I typically don't use the tool as I have so many .ini files from other planes that it's easier to use one of those.  Just make sure the popup=xxx line in the rxp.ini matches the ident=xxx line for the matching rxp device as defined in the panel.cfg.

Or, simply ignore the error (you won't be using the panel editing anyway) and edit the settings using the tool.  Then go into the newly created .ini file and add the LinkGPS=On line.

Hope that helps,

Scott
