Any plans to make a menu option to open and close doors?

I'm sure the above question has been asked many times, and I'm wondering if the developer has given an official response. They key strokes are not reliable for opening the doors.

The doors are using standart FSX assignments, I am sure there is a separate addon gauge to do that, although I cannot name one.

In worst case I could see if I can dig up the one I was making back in FS9 days and modify for FSX.

Search for 'door gauge' in the library. I don't remember the name of the panel addon, but I think it was a panel for a C5.

This topic has been discussed at length.  We have decided that the default FSX assignments will remain as the method for opening the doors.

Hi

I know this is an old thread but I did make a Majestic exits control gauge for my own use, now as this uses a modified Majestic texture for its background image I would have to ask on the Majestic forum if it would be OK to let other Q400 drivers who would like to try it out have a copy, in the meantime here is a screen shot of the gauge as it stands at present.

It is fully functional for all doors and although the two right hand door do not operate independently they can be operated by clicking on either of the left hand door status signs, the remaining three (main entrance, rear entrance and baggage door) do operate independently of each other by clicking on their door status sign.

Jim,

Nice job, I have no problem with you sharing the gauge with other Q400 drivers.

Be aware that Majestic Software will not offer support for any abnormalities that may occur as a result of its usage.

That being said - have at it guys.  I will post it as an announcement for a few days in our Majestic forum.

Hi

Thanks for that I really appreciate the permission to use your modified texture as it makes the gauge blend in a bit better, as for any support that would be down to myself and the installation instructions will mention that this is a totally unsupported and unofficial modification to the Q400 and to be used at the owners’ own risk.

Thanks again for the texture use permission and for taking the time out to reply, I appreciate both.

Take care and have fun.
