September 14, 201312 yr Have the T7 configured to permit acquiring APP before LOC, but the plane is acting weird. It for some reason drifts sideways off the ILS beam even though both Horizontal and Vertical Purple Diamonds show in the PFC. What am I missing? There is a setup setting for use FSX course which is ENABLED. Should that be disabled? R. September 14, 201312 yr There is a setup setting for use FSX course which is ENABLED. Hmm, never had this problem, but I wasn't aware of such setting! I'll check it with ant without it set ( don't even guess how mine is defined... ) Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)

September 14, 201312 yr Author When the plane goes into APP mode, afaik, the LNAV and VNAV modes shut off and the APP mode is flying the plane for the runway along the localizer course. What 'appears' to be happening is the plane cannot "see" the localizer beam.. well, it 'sees' it because the purple diamonds are both bright purple. Trouble is, the plane doesn't fly the localizer beam. It wanders off course, at which point I switch to visual and manually land the plane. Pretty annoying though. I do remember that I didn't have the TRACK mode clicked on in the HDG (to accomodate wind variations) and possibly this is having an impact on the avionics. Not sure. R. September 14, 201312 yr Commercial Member Odd. Not seen this. Which airport? Some add-on sceneries have some anomalies with respect to localizer course and magnetic variance. Did you change the global FSX magnetic variance database out of interest? Best regards, Robin.
September 15, 201312 yr Author You know, I may have updated the magnetic variance, if memory serves. Flew into KSFO (San Francisco) tonight, landed fine ILS 28L, it followed the glideslope vertical and horizontal, flew the last 800 feet manual, no problems. May have solved my issue, not sure. R.
