RAAS still inaccurate

Featured Replies

I don't understand why my RAAS keep being inaccurate. When I'm on the runway it sometimes says "ON TAXIWAY" or "APPROACHING RUNWAY XX".

I followed the instructions about RAAS in the Introduction Manual. I deleted the runways.csv and let MakeRunways.exe create a new one. However, it also created multiple other .csv files - of which I'm not sure they're supposed to be created. But they were all called something like: g5.csv, t4.csv, r4.csv.

But it still turned out to be inaccurate sometimes.

Which airports, and are they add-ons?

Did you run MakeRunways.exe from the ROOT of FSX?

Best regards,

Robin.

I have the issue at KORD (FSDT) on Rwy 4R. (Havn't tried 22L but 28R seemed to work ok)

Also had one at Orbx YMAV Rwy 18.

Confirm MakeRunways.exe from root FSX directory.

Wasn't expecting KORD because I'v had no problems with other FSDT scenery at KJFK, KDFW, KLAX...

Yep I ran it from the root directory.

But just curious whether apart from the runways.csv, other .csv files are supposed to be there as well? Like g4.csv and t5.csv, etc.

Which Version? makerwys 4.672 produced odd results for me too. Reverting to 4.671 solved the issue.

Those additional csv files are for other add-on programs that also require an airport runway database in csv format. (Radar Contact is one that comes to mind).

Makerunways doesn't know which particular add-ons you have installed, so it creates csv files for ALL of its supported add-ons, every time it's run. Their presence has no effect on RAAS, which will only access the specific csv file that was designed for it.
